Xan:
She loves being a little mammoth at least currently.

She probably thinks (Wrongly) they are playing hide and seek and will look for them in the caves.

Going back deeper/farther than before...?

Re: OOC THREAD for game: PANTHEON

I'm having some serious writer's block w/ what Lyric might try to bless the Slitherkin. "You'll always appreciate how super awesome I am" doesn't seem quite right... but I'll try to figure out out this afternoon.

Tempted to post something, but I'm kinda waiting for a post where AnBas says what he thinks of his new completed godhome...

(Also: will he shoo the mountain giants out? Try to teach them to be his servants (or change them so they make better servants? (What would he want servants to do, anyway?)))

Well, go ahead and say what it's like... I'll let you decide if the mountain giants have done it just the way AnBas would want, or a little off, but it should be at least partly a success...

AnBas hovers over the little mammoth and gives her a couple of pats for good rock kicking.

Re: OOC THREAD for game: PANTHEON

I will say that time will pass, and that the following advances and learnings will take place:

Mountain Giants:
--Learn to speak, although they're not very good at it
--Making buildings constructed with stone
--Agriculture

Arys Tal:
--Have Language skills
--Meditation

The Lyr:
--Have Language skills

The Zareb:
--Have Language skills

The Slitherkin:
--Have Language skills
--Making tools of wood and stone
--Making weapons of stone and wood
--Ropemaking
--Tanning//Leatherworking
--Hunting
--Spear-fishing
--Making Fire
--Cooking with Fire
--Raft/canoe/boatmaking

Lyric, choose three more advances for The Lyr:

--Do they learn tool use?
--Do they learn Hunting?
--Do they learn to make fire?
--Do they learn agriculture?
--Do they learn herbalism?
--Do they learn archery?
--Do they learn magic?

Re: OOC THREAD for game: PANTHEON

Remember, the Lyr also have

quote:
she can give them some very basic music theory and two or three simple tunes to start with, yes

Musical harpycritters!

Ummm, as for further advancements, they're bird things so...

1. Tools...
2. Hunting, I guess? Is this an advancement, really? I suppose I just imagine the Lyr dropping on their prey (fish or otherwise) with their talons, and amn't sure if that falls under this, or this is meant to indicate hunting with weapons.
And third...
3. I want to stick with the music theme. Magic music?

I'm not too sure about these. Indecision.

Magic Music, sure.  That makes sense.  The Lyr having enchanting voices makes perfect sense to.

2. No-- SWOOPING AND GRABBING to fish isn't the same thing as spear-fishing nor fishing with nets nor poles nor whatever. They can have SWOOPING AND GRABBING TO FISH for free.

I just thought I'd toss those in there...

So... what will the third thing be, besides tools and music? Non-fish hunting...?

Er, and, well... Can they also drop w/ talons on non-fish critters? My brain is having a difficult time grokking "but they're birds based on birds-of-prey, so birds know how to get food and they hunt" and "hunting" as a developed thing.

Hmmmmmm... Look at it as a strategy thing.

BIRDS can soar, look closely, and then swoop and grab.

HUNTERS can do other things, like
--ambush
--chase prey into traps (or ambushes)
--read spoor and other signs to see what's nearby
--chase down wounded prey until it gets tired

etc.

Re: OOC THREAD for game: PANTHEON

Buuut--

I dunno, I'll have to think about it for a while. My brain just fullstops on it as a development unless it involves tools, 'cause thinking animals have 'strategies' for hunting. The owl swoops from above silently. The hawk waits by the watering hole squirrels like to use. The cuckoo does its jerk cuckoo thing. Agriculture as a development, I get.
