I just edited the Character Creation thread to include Hit Points. As follows:

7.) Hit Points: You get Max Hit Points for the first two levels and then roll thereafter. If you roll less than half your Hit Die, just make it half plus 1, e.g., 1d8, and you roll a 3, just bump it up to 5 and then add/ subtract your Con bonus. As this Campaign will involve a lot of traveling and challenges, I am boosting HP's up a bit.

I will set up a private thread for each group once everyone is ready to go. One will consist of Kaplan, Arma, and possibly one more. The other will have Anthony, HuMu, Brannen, Mhurren, and possibly one more. The beginning adventure will actually pit the two sides against the other, but hopefully, you all be one happy party when it is over. These private threads will allow each group to get to know the others as it is expected that you have worked together in the past. The second group is elite agents used by the Kyrn government for special missions. Arama and Kaplan, you both are just trying to escape Rosohna.

No rush people are finishing up, and some haven't started. So far, those that have used the Heroic Chronicle have had some interesting results. It looks like we have a very interesting group with a couple more joining, hopefully. Again I thank you for your interest and hope you all have a great time in Wildemount! :)

Yes, I would say so. have you bought your firearms yet? Gunpowder? :)

Will add these from the Tal'Dorei book under House rules.

Accelerated Downtime
Certain adventures thrive on the adrenaline of the chase,
or the ever-present fear of ambush. As it stands, the need
to take a short rest can prove difficult during long dungeon
crawls, and this lends itself to a nice tone of personal stress
and risk-vs-reward. However, sometimes a rest is necessary
for the party to even continue, but the current rush of the
story’s clock won’t allow for a standard short rest. You could
consider lessening the required time to complete a short
rest to 30 minutes or less for the moment, or your entire
campaign, as an option. Another possibility is to allow the
party to take an Arduous Rally if they so choose.

Arduous Rally
The party spends 5 minutes to rally their resolve in the
face of coming peril, the adrenaline fueling their need
to push on. The party benefits from the completion of a
full Short Rest, but all healing gained by spending hit
dice is halved, and all rallying characters suffer 1 point of
Exhaustion (p. 291 PHB). Can not do it again until after a long rest.

Hadn't thought about gun powder yet. Reload time is an issue. I may have to change an Infusion.

I was thinking Spellwrought tattoos. Some one shot tats with first level spells. I've got 500 gp to burn off, yet. (Basically, personal scrolls)

DMG Gunpowder info, or is there more in Wildemount I haven't gotten to, yet?

In reply to Anthony (msg # 12):

According to the Gunslinger PDF

Pistol costs 250 gpcs Range 100/400 Reload 4, which means you can fire 4 times before you reload. Misfire on a 1. This means if you misfire, your gun jams, and you must spend a round fixing it using tinkers tools DC 8 + Misfire number, so if your to hit roll was 1, it would be DC 9.

Doesn't give the price of Gunpowder, though. Maybe in The DMG? :)

That would be 1d10 for the pistol. For 500 gpcs you could have two pistols. Eights shots before a reload. It states that you can make enough powder and shot for eight on a Short rest and triple on a Long Rest. No cost just work.  Cheers

There is a goblin town, Urzin, located in the Brokenveil Marsh that is built upon the backs of several of these. They have just come under Kryn's control though they are mostly left on their own to govern themselves. A Legion of Aurora watch is also stationed there as patrols from the Empire are now making sorties into the marsh, perhaps in retaliation for the taking of Ashguard by Dynasty forces.

HuMu during the course of his study, sparked also by the interest in such tortoises, has come to know about an ancient Tortise that keeps his own counsel but is known to aid those who approach with respect and can aid him as well. ;)

This character I rolled all randomly on the Heroic Chronicles so not from the dynasty. =)

If you want to get the most healing functionality at low levels you want a life cleric druid, then you just lean on goodberry a lot, which works well on bloodhunters as they tend to take small amounts of damage in a predictable manner rather than needing sudden assistance from surprise unconsciousness.

As agents of the Crown, after the first meet up adventure mind, The Queen's Quartermaster will give each member 2 healing potions and 100 gpcs before setting off to adventure. So you all should be good.

However, sometimes a rest is necessary

story’s clock won’t allow for a standard short rest. You could
consider lessening the required time to complete a short
rest to 30 minutes or less for the moment, or your entire
campaign, as an option.

Blessings :)

Don't let time zones worry you to much, I don't really use any one time zone anyways.

I am fairly sure my sheet is done unless we decide we need less overlap or redundancy in magic items.

Hmmm, that is one that gets a lot of discussion/controversy.

One could argue that the herbalism kit allows making healing potions because it says so, and that alchemy tools doesn't alow making any potions because it doesn't say specifically that it can.

One could argue that the herbalism kit can make healing potions, and the alshemy tools can make any other potion.

One could argue that both allow healing potions and the alchemy tools allow the others.

Ony could even argue that the rules in Xanathars came out later and over rule the stuff in the PH.

Personally I would bump it up to the Bossman and be happy with literally any of those options.

Really they all work, as long as we know what to work with.  :)

5e is a touch lose on its tool proficiencies, even with the Xanathar's details added, and that is intentional.  They all work in the style of their tool, so there is plenty of room for overlap.  The herbal ones taste like some kind of foul smelling plant drink, the alchemical ones smell like sulfur or some such, but they all work the same.

Well, time to learn how to use an herbalist kit. And while I'm at it, I'll probably try to take up cooking too.
Odd, I retired as a chef; plague year ends with me teaching my wife to cook and playing a character who plans to do the same.

Re: OOC Chat!

Okay, Brennan, Kaplan, and Mhurren's Character sheets have been approved. As long as there are no more changes, I will be getting the starting adventure- (Session 0). Thanks, Amra, up later today. Regarding this, remember that hopefully, once this adventure is complete, both groups will join to be one party. Then can then proceed with the start of the campaign in earnest.

Again, thank you all for all the hard work and thought you have put into these characters and for working together/ being so flexible. I think we will all have a lot of fun, I am sure. As a side note, we have a lot of players/ characters in the party. We have a lot of different classes and subclasses as well. These are scattered (at least for me not belonging to D&D Beyond) throughout serval books and PDFs, so I ask for some patience when asking for clarification about this or that ability and/ or spell. Also, don't be afraid to point out something I may have missed or gotten wrong.

I will try to get up a few things, like the rumors and info about the Aurora Watch, before we start. I was going to do so earlier but got busy. Thanks again! Blessings :)

However, if the party accomplishes something vital and if/ when they grow in power, nothing is out of the question. Everyone, please chime in. Blessings :)

Part of why I want to play in this game is because I don't know much about the setting and wanted to learn it.  So queens are generally good and a bit of politics tends to help, but I have no idea who this queen is or why that might matter beyond the generic rank.

Also, because I have been so impressed with what you all have done character-building wise and for all the help you gave me to date, everyone gains an Inspiration.

Now the difference between Mulligans and Inspirations, Mulligans refresh between adventures and Inspirations do not. Mulligans are set by level and Inspirations are not. I am also thinking to make this a House Rule- that at the end of every adventure the party votes to give a member of the party an Inspiration. this could be because of good roleplaying or that this person did something crucial plot-wise for it to succeed. Again please chime in and denote the Inspiration on your Character Sheet. Thanks :)

Details about Mulligans found here:

Re: OOC Chat!

The latest post is for Jamin, Anthony, Brannen, and Mhurren. Hurry Up And Wait describes a waiting room within The Lucid Bastion where The Agents of the Queen await their next mission, but at least they will do it in style. You all can describe yourself as arriving, escorted by members of the Aurora Watch, and how you pass the time as you wait. Once people start arriving you can converse among yourself.

Kaplan, Nina, and Amra, your thread is coming. The Sign of the Green Goblin. This is an inn of ill-repute located in The Coronas where you have found lodgings and for a price safety from the patrols of The Aurora watch. Here you guys can plan your mission. The proprietor, one Gyrd Coinpinch, is a fair host and, for a price, the best friend a group of fugitives could have. It will be up soon!

Enjoy, blessings! :)

Re: OOC Chat!

Hey all! I will be updating the threads soon. It looks like that we should be able to get to the meat of the adventure today. A couple of things to go over. Some of you have already begun to use your Mulligans. That is good because they will refresh after this adventure, which should be quick and fun. That is my hope anyway. The difference between inspirations and Mulligans is that Inspirations do not refresh and are not dependent on your level; therefore, you could technically have more or less of these than per your level. Why the Mulligans? Well, because the Die Roller and Avandra can both be fickle. I would hate to see a well-made plan go sour because of bad luck. So use them when and where you need them and have fun.

Now about the adventure. Remember, this is to unite both groups into one big party. So both groups should refrain from permanently harming the other. It could be that the Queen has ordered such, and the other group knows the Kryn Dynasty has harsh laws against those who commit assault or murder. That does not mean you can not use your abilities to slow the other down with Hold Person spells and such, and we will be using the Pursuit rules from DMG to add to the fun. There is another surprise too, but I'll keep this secret for now.

Good news! I should get my Tasha book today! *Crosses Fingers* So in the future, we may be adding such from it as well. Well, I will be offline for about an hour or so, but then I will be back for updates. Thanks! Stay safe and be blessed! :)

Matilda and Cassandra? I will get you both set up tomorrow in your own thread... maybe Meetings Of The Minds we will name it? Where your Gnomish buddies will be setting up a meeting. It seems Torick Trickfoot is up to his old tricks... possibly a job with the City itself and with the Sanction of the Margrave himself... or so he says. May Avandra bless you both! ;)

For the record, my last IC post IS what happened.

Forgotten Tower#14 Anthony asked for laundry, specifically a coat. In #18, the guard told Anthony none such was available (rudely at that), and then turned to Jamin and said he'd have a JACKET fetched.

It rather seemed to me as though he was trying to pick a fight with Anthony. Unless I missed something? Quite possible, the Holidays are distracting me.

Probably just a misunderstanding. The cloak was hanging in the Lady's closest. He assumed you meant laundry as clothes in the wash or preparing to be. So just a mistaken take on verbiage. No big deal. It was a good scene to play out. Blessings :)

Maybe. That's his point of view, to be sure, and yes I think the guard was merely being more dismissive that lying, like he was upset that certain people have been less than respectful to him so why should he help too much. Shrug.

Either way, doesn't matter really, lol

Hey everyone! I'll move things along tomorrow. Waiting on HuMu in the Tower thread and Cassandra in the Minds thread (she said she would be busy). Brannen and Mhurren have rolled for the second round already, which is fine. I will save those actions. HuMu needs an action in the first round. Then the second, along with Anthony and the spider.

You guys in the Dark thread sure keep me on my toes. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, so let me go ahead and wish you all a very Blessed New Year in advance. I thank you for not only joining this game but for making it so much fun to boot.

On a sad note, it seems we lost Jamin. I moved him to NPC status for now. I PMed him a while back but have not heard from him. We still have a full and wonderful cast, so no worries. Have a great night! Many Blessings :)

Please keep hydrated. Try to rest as much as you can. If you live alone, find a friend you can call at least once a day to let them know you are okay. So if they do not hear from you, they can come by and check on you. Just like you told me, do not worry about the game. Just take care of yourself first and foremost. Sending you good thoughts and prayers! Blessings :)

My new meds were stronger than I thought. I have been fairly loopy and lethargic, but I am finally adjusting to them, thank god! I will try to update the threads tomorrow. My weary brain should be up to it then. Thanks for your patience, everyone. Please take good care! Blessings :)

I hope you are feeling better, Mhurren! Remember to take good care of yourself. I have updated the threads. Matilda, go ahead and post in answer to Rocky, and I will get your new thread up tomorrow. Thanks again, everyone, for your patience. I am still a little wobbly, but overall I feel much, much better. Many Blessings All!!!! :)

Re: OOC Chat!

If someone else wants to lead, that's fine. I just figured Anthony was the obvious choice, given his armor abilities.

Matilda, you can answer Rocky in your current thread and then moved to a new thread. I shall have it up later today. Sorry for the confusion. Blessings :)

Re: OOC Chat!

I will update the threads later today. HuMu, the red spider, appears to be the same kind of glyph upon the canopy of the bed. You may use detect magic if you wish. Those in the Dark Allies thread, I am glad you made it across! Only a little ways to go. Cassandra, I will try to get you and your sidekick out of the Boar today as well. Matilda, your thread is up, and the Old Gnome is awaiting you.

Thanks again for all your great posts and patience. I know I often say it, but I am blessed to have you all here. :)

Re: OOC Chat!

Hey there! I will let those in the Tower thread decide what to do next, whether it is to go forward, go back, or use some kind of spell, ability, or skill. Yet, if a fight breaks out, only Anthony or Brannen can face an attacker. Anthony in the front or Brannen if attacked from the rear.

It looks like we lost Takayuki. I hate that; I hope he is okay. I may use him as an NPC and send him to help Matilda and Cassandra. He knows where the Green Dagger is. Not the exact location but close enough. This dagger may, in the end, tie both parties together. I hope you all are well. If you have any questions or I can help in any way, let me know here or PM me. Blessings :)

Anyone else from the Tower still here?

I cast a Detect Magic,  but no one else has posted since.

Yeah, I have been checking in. Looks like the DN hasn't been on for a bit. Hopefully they pop back in, I am hoping they are OK.

Re: OOC Chat!

Oh, hell, I hadn't thought about that. I was in 3 games, this is the only one left. Covid has sidelined the other 2 DMs. It should have occurred to me here, too.

Even sequestering isn't enough, I guess.

I've been swamped but I really wanna see this game play out, even if it's a few weeks before a response.  I'll get a post up and hopefully keep the narrative going for DM gets back.

Re: OOC Chat!

I am here, folks. I have been super busy at work, and I am trying to move at the same time. I am a Physical Therapy Assistant, so work has been very challenging, to say the least. We have Covid patients, so things have been a little scary for both the patients and staff. We have been blessed out of fifteen therapy staff; no one in our Department has gotten Covid. Our Rehab Manager has been super supportive and helps keep our work area clean. Covid patients are treated in isolation, and we have never had to worry about protective equipment.

I have not seen any activity either and thought the worst. Sorry for any delays and such. I am extremely grateful for your patience. I will get back on tonight and explain things better. But just know I am really thankful you guys are here, and I want to keep going too! Blessings :)

I don't think it is, unfortunately. Been a couple of months without any word from the DM.
