Re: OOC Chat!

Oh! Could you all place your Allies and Rivals, along with a description (e.g., Drow Guard) or any other NPC we spoken about at the bottom of your Character Sheet so I can keep up and refer back to? I hate for all this good work to be left out, and there is so much my feeble mind might forget otherwise.

While I am speaking on this, you all have done a great job with your Heroic Chronicles and fleshing out your characters. Thanks so for the effort. It really shows. I think this is going to be an exciting party. Blessings :)

That is good to hear! I think Anthony is done. Kaplan, Arma, Nina, and HuMu are getting close if not done. So that leaves Jamin, Brannen, and your Equipment Mhurren.

Am I right? If you are finished and wish me to look over your Character Sheet, just let me know, and I will do so. Again I am not rushing you. What I have seen has been great. Please take your time and make sure it is what you want and how you want it. Not that changes can not be made at a later time... I just want you to be satisfied with your results. After all, you have worked very hard thus far. Blessings :)

P.S.
Mhurren I will look up what you asked about that class now and get back to you in your PM.

Yes, I'm done, although it's looking like I'm in a different time zone than most folks.

Re: OOC Chat!

Thanks, Arma and Kaplan! I will look things over in a bit. Kaplan, no rush. Anthony, no worries! With a group this big, it is bound to happen. I will do my best to keep you guys busy, and hopefully, the game will be interesting enough, so you all want to post. I will try my best, promise!

I will put a rumor thread later today. You would have heard things while walking the streets, visiting the local tavern/ marketplace, and attending court. Kaplan, there is a Shrine to Pelor, but it is located in the Gallimaufry District. There is not always a priest in attendance, but there is a way to leave messages.

Blessings :)

Re: OOC Chat!

Don't let time zones worry you to much, I don't really use any one time zone anyways.

I am fairly sure my sheet is done unless we decide we need less overlap or redundancy in magic items.

Well, bloodhunters can craft healing potions, yay alchemy supplies.

I thought it was Herbalism kits that allowed you to make healing potions?

Crafting a Potion of Healing from Xanathar's Guide
TypeTimeCost
Healingday25 gold
Greater Healing1 workweek100 gp
Superior Healing3 workweek1,000 gp
Supreme Healing4 workweek10,000 gp

Brewing Potions of Healing. Potions of healing fall into a special category for item crafting, separate from other magic items. A character who has proficiency with the herbalism kit can create these potions. The times and costs for doing so are summarized on the Potion of Healing Creation table.

Other types of potions would be created via Crafting Rules in the DMG

I was thinking about imbued runes. Like an emergency heal kinda deal. Buuutttt then I remembered I am a black bird, with black skin... Rune tattoos just kinda blend in.

So get colored magic tattoos. That is what I did. A bunch of grapes and a flask with a halo.

Re: OOC Chat!

In reply to Kaplan Eryth (msg # 78):
Hmmm, that is one that gets a lot of discussion/controversy.

One could argue that the herbalism kit allows making healing potions because it says so, and that alchemy tools doesn't alow making any potions because it doesn't say specifically that it can.

One could argue that the herbalism kit can make healing potions, and the alshemy tools can make any other potion.

One could argue that both allow healing potions and the alchemy tools allow the others.

Ony could even argue that the rules in Xanathars came out later and over rule the stuff in the PH.

Personally I would bump it up to the Bossman and be happy with literally any of those options.

Really they all work, as long as we know what to work with.  :)

Re: OOC Chat!

5e is a touch lose on its tool proficiencies, even with the Xanathar's details added, and that is intentional.  They all work in the style of their tool, so there is plenty of room for overlap.  The herbal ones taste like some kind of foul smelling plant drink, the alchemical ones smell like sulfur or some such, but they all work the same.

Re: OOC Chat!

Damn, y'all are right. I could have sworn alchemy supplies could be used to brew healing potions.
Well, time to learn how to use an herbalist kit. And while I'm at it, I'll probably try to take up cooking too.
Odd, I retired as a chef; plague year ends with me teaching my wife to cook and playing a character who plans to do the same.
