[Mechanics] Equipment
Altimeter
This small metal device resembles an oversized pocket watch. It has a dial indicating altitude in feet. Because it relies on atmospheric pressure, local weather can greatly affect its accuracy, often making them inaccurate to hundreds or even thousands of feet. Altimeters are often built specific to a world, although expensive altimeters built for multiple worlds are sometimes manufactured. Altimeters usually have areas of the dial that indicate danger due to low air pressure (suffocation risk), or, sometimes, heat danger at low altitude.
Due to its cost, many airships on Thresher go without one, relying instead on altitude estimation by the crew.
Cost: 1,000 GP, Weight: 1 lb
