Question DM, for animal companions we also roll the HD after the 1st one? I did roll, and I got a 1 & 2, so if we take those numbers, my companion will last until the end of the first combat :)

Nah, that's fine. It's part of the fun to play when you roll badly. I just wanted to complain a little :)
And we are plenty of players so I can use him more stealthily to flank instead of tank.

Not druid, ranger. But I'm archer, so not melee either.
We'll need a melee. If Friedhelm is not melee I might change my build and become one, if the DM agrees.

Bard here actually, Archaeologist archetype.
While I can’t be an exceptional melee I can focus more on that when it comes to combat.
