Planning to post tomorrow morning. Absolutely exhausted today. Took my foster son out to a hockey game last night, and we didn’t get back until late. Mind you, our weekdays begin at 0530. So, yeah zombie mode all day to$ay.

Ouch!  0530 is nighttime, not morning!  Morning doesn't start until 0700!

I was disappointed when J.K. Rowling finally fixed a year for the stories (which I think didn't happen until the gravestones in Deathly Hallows). I interpreted Dudley's weird 1970s-1990s mix of birthday presents in Philosopher's Stone ("the racing bike, a cine-camera, a remote-control aeroplane, sixteen new computer games and a video recorder") as a sign readers weren't supposed to associate the stories with a definite year.

At the time I don't think they were.  A lot changed in the author's intent between the writing of the first and last books, perhaps due to the fame or due to the movies but in any case there is a significant range of ways to read both the muggle and magical worlds timelines.

Not to brag or anything, but Harry and I were born the same year.

Weirdly though, it was my parents who scarred me, not some rando house invader...

Do you want us to write an entire mini-scene for each post, or leave it at a key moment? I've left Pandora's post at the point Mr. Ollivander (or his replacement) would arrive, but I can write out the whole interaction if that's the idea.

The worst Deathly Hallow just got worse by being replicated for a family tradition lol

No power where I am (DTE sucks). Even though my house is four minutes from one of its mobile staging grounds, and I live in the downtown area of my city, my estimated restoration date is tomorrow. So, approximately three days without power…. Really regretting not getting that transfer switch installed for the generator I bought last year. Current foster son came right when I was about to pull the trigger on that, so I delayed it. :/

Anyway, I’ll post Monday if I have power early, or Tuesday if not.

Only just got power back. I'll be posting at some point today, but I'm still catching up on everything I couldn't get done while I was without power. Not that you're waiting for me though. :P

In other news, the Kentucky adoption process really stinks for out of state families. Every time a waiting family inquires on a kiddo, it's "fill out this six page document." Seriously, can you just save the thing for six months or something, Kentucky? Also, my home study answers all of its questions anyway, so the document feels extra pointless and tedious. I suspect Kentucky uses the document to weed out the serious waiting families from the casual ones. :P

Not much. Mostly just slogging through bad weather and aggravating children at work while nursing a migraine. Tiring, but nothing too bad.

Just been left out of energy the last week or so. Guess I'm just in a long winter funk.
I'm gonna try to get something coherent up in IC sometime later this evening. If not it'll be tomorrow.

Has been consistently around 35° C for the past two weeks, so I'm melting. Otherwise, I'm good.

I would like 35°c for two weeks right now.  We get that for a day or two, then back to winter.
I have been working overtime the past few weeks.  We are short four people, some days five or six, depending on if anyone has taken a day off.  55.5 hours two weeks ago, 66 last week, only because I chose not to work the extra time Saturday before last.  Somewhere in between this week.  My wife and kids are starting to forget who I am.  But, we need the money anyway.  Got a parade to go to for Memorial Day.
