I've received several questions, so I thought I would answer them here where everyone can see.

98-Gamma was assembled from veterans of the Spire Militias of Armageddon. The militias tend to recruit entire gangs as a way ensuring camaraderie in early missions. That's not how the 808 operates. Once they get recruits, they tend to break up existing squads into new squads. They don't want pre-existing loyalties, and want to build loyalties to the new squads and the regiment as a whole.

As for previous training experience, the 98 gamma squad has experience in urban combat, tunnel fighting, and hazardous environments. You have mostly fought orks, with some action against rebellious humans.

I have received quite a few applications early on. I'm anticipating having at least one of every Guardsman specialty, and possibly more. My experience with play by post games in general and only Warren specific is that we get a lot of ghosts. I would be happy to have a very full Squad, but I want to be prepared in case we don't have that.

Okay, nearly everyone is in. We have one of each specialty of guardsmen except Stormtrooper, but we have doubles of at least one of you. Please get started creating your character. Your sheets should be editable.

There is something I wanted to bring up for the group to discuss. Your squad's Chimera, "Blizzard," has three weapons systems: A hull-mounted weapon, a turret-mounted weapon, and a pintle-mounted weapon.

The Operator will be choosing the hull-mounted weapon, which shoots directly forward. They have the option of a Heavy Bolter or Heavy Flamer.

The Heavy will have the choice of Turret-mounted weapon. They have the choice of a multi-laser, a heavy bolter, a heavy flamer, or an autocannon.

The Sergeant will have the choice of the pintle-mounted weapon. They may choose a Heavy Stubber or a Storm Bolter.

Operate (X) means we're all proficient with all (X) vehicle weapons, right? So any of us could take a turn on the pintle gun and so on?

The always amusing thing about choosing a career and then rolling stats is you could be amazingly good at something that is totally not your specialty.  Or phenomenal or totally subpar.  Fun but at times frustrating :)

Hello, I'm heavy weapons guy and this... (chooses missile launcher , subject to dm approval) is my weapon.

We have quite a colorful squad I must say, should be fun!

For turret mount I'm leaning towards multilaser but am open to suggestions.

Multilaser seems good from a practicality standpoint since all you need is electricity. Autocannon is a big nasty frigger though.

Multilaser is best laser!

Always been a fan of the autocannon, Also am thinking storm bolter for the pintle...
