Two great powers influence the many worlds and their interplay effects and allows those who know true sorcery to work magic and access possibly other powers as well. Their presence and seemingly constant battle was considered mere philosophy until the first few manifestations of their power were found. The mighty Annunaki like glowing angels made of the Eidolon's celestial light they were found leading worlds towards perfection.



While these angels were often perceived with awe and reverence as they helped people towards better and more advanced civilizations they were not always benevolent and thier idea of perfection did not always include living populaces.




As the Eidolon strove towards perfection, the Umbra strove to break things down, a force of chaos and entropy. Where it held sway things broke down, failed, and eventually slid into decay. Like the Eidolon it seemed to have servants too that personified it the horrifying Umbral Guants Held together and motivated by the very forces of entropy.



These Umbral Guants are even more esoteric in their methods and what they are trying to accomplish. Some are destroyers of worlds while others wield the power of entropy to hold off even greater atrocities like rotting heroes.

Who can say if other forces yet swirl about the worlds or even the Grand Stair.
