Xantastic leads her through the city to a really nice him but part of it looks like it had been in a super battle. The destruction looks impressive to say the least with bent and mangled metal framing and crumpled walls. Through all the destruction a pristine and beautifully ornate wooden Door stood.

Xantastic her superhero name lead her to the Door and pointed it out.

Barbara blinked in shock and approached with caution, getting a baterrang out of her copious utility belt.  She began looking around for clues.
She examined the door.
"Well....the workmanship is impressive, if exotic."

It is hard to tell what did all the damage. At first look she had assumed a super strong person had stormed through the area but the bends were way too organic and twisted. The bits of wall looked like yes looking around other then the rather obvious structural damage it seemed like time had taken it's toll in mere moments and rotted, and withered away the area. It was pretty startling and not a common power to say the least. As said she didn't see any hand or claw marks on the bent and twisted superstructure but even that had rust and oxidization on it.

Xantastic had gone off and come back with a bottle of lemonade for Barbara.

Barbara looked around, taking pictures and making notes.
She was amused but grateful to Xantastic for the lemonade.
"Um...thank you, though hydration is hardly our biggest concern at the moment.  What did this?  It almost looks like entire chunks of the house aged a hundred years in seconds.  Like someone 'rusted' the wood and stone.  Who did this?  Were you here for any of this?  How well did you know Jennifer?"

"Her name is Jessica, I have known her for a while. I was here but I got knocked out. I think when they did this something fell and hit me." She lowers her hood and for the first time you realize she isn't a little girl. Well perhaps not a little human girl but an adorable alien like girl that looks very human and childlike.

She has a bump on her head where something hit her and a bit of dry blood in her hair.

Barbara nodded,  then looked quizzically at the little girl
"I don't mean to pry, but....well, when I first saw you, i presumed that you were a precocious young human girl,  but you're not,  are you?  If it's not too impolite,  what are you, specifically?"
She held up her hands
"Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Some of my friends ar school include a Kryptonian and an Amazon princess. "

"I am a chib, I come from passed the door. Whoever attacked came from passed the door too. I saw it opening before I got hit by something."

"They shouldn't be able to open it without the key though."

While not completely satisfied with that answer,  Barbara nodded politely
'Wait....so what's behind the door?  Does it go to another dimension or something?"

"It goes to the Stairway, that connects all dimensions."

She puts her hood up again but winces when her hair with the dried blood scrapes the top of the hood.

Barbara looked at the door in amazement,  then back at Xantastic
"That's a bit...overwhelming,  but let me take a look at your head wound.  I've got a first aid kit "

Xan lowers her hood again.

She will lead Barbara to the bathroom and take out a lunchbox sized first aid kit from under the sink.  "Thank you for helping. I can't really see where I got hit."

She tried to clean the wound as best she could

"Well, we can go through that door to try to track down whomever did this.  We'll bring them to justice "

Xan nods

"I would like to help, they might have kidnapped my friend Jessica."

Barbara nodded
"Since she's not here, i suppose she must have been kidnapped.   If anything bad happened,  she wouldn't have been taken. "

She pulls out a Huge hammer that couldn't possibly fit in her pocket and nods enthusiastically.

Barbara looked at the little girl with wide eyes
"Where in the World  did......you know what? Never mind.  Okay, let's see whatever we can learn here, and then head through the door"

She nods and zips about gathering lunchboxes for the two of them and thermoses.

She hands Barbara a big pulp sci fi gun

"Guns aren't really my style,  but i suppose i shouldn't turn down any helpful tools"

Xantria then waits by the Door.

What Barbara is able to figure out is that the temporal or rotting forces whatever they may be seem to have come from the door in a conical blast yet the door itself and it's frame seem to have suffered none of the damage.

Was there any indication of what might have happened to Jessica?

There does seem to be a sign of a struggle.

Barbara walked to the door, and tried to open it.   If it was locked, she'd try to unlock it
"What was Jessica loke?  Did she have powers,  or combat skills,  or high tech equipment?"

"She had all kinds of equipment and she could make it better too. She had powers ! She could heal fast, and didn't age, she could create a shield and other things."

As Barbara tried the door it was locked but the key opened it. As she opened the door Xantastic tumbled through to help protect her.

Barbara bit her lip nervously.  She was always up for adventure, but her 'cousin' (if Jessica could be believed), seemed more in the league of her friends Jessica Cruz the Green Lantern, or Princess Diana, or even Zatanna the sorceress.   The girl in the bat inspired costume felt severely unqualified to handle this.  She briefly considered returning to school to try to recruit her super powered friends, but realized that if Jessica was family, then she was a family matter and she needed to deal with it herself.   Whatever it took.

She walked through the door.

A blackened rotted mansion room lay beyond the door.
