Millenia steps back, "Ewww you really think so ?"

 Barbara shrugged and smiled wryly
"I could go for some girl scout cookies.   Let me see if i can see who's there"
She went to the door and tried to 'sense' who was there

Barbara gets a brief flash

Barbara,  looking a little embarrassed,  glanced back at Millennia
"I'm seeing..kittens?"

She was fully expecting Millenia to freak out and scream "OH GOD!!!  NOT THE KITTENS!!!!"

"Ooooh kittens I wanna see !" runs over and tries to open the Door but fails cause it's locked.

Jill, "Kittens ?"


Millenia, "That is not what I was expecting, highly unusual. There are not a lot of them are there ?"

  “Didn’t the Penguin use exploding penguins at one point?  Maybe these are from Catwoman?”

Barbara shook her head to Dean
"As far as i know, Catwoman would never put cats in danger like that.   And if SHE has access to the stairway,  we're all in trouble." 
She looked at Millennia and shrugged
"I dunno,  it's,  like, five?"

“Five kittens, five of us.  I’m thinking that is NOT a coincidence.”

"Five, five you make a good point Barbara and smart. They have access to the Grand Stair or whoever owns them has access to the stair. So don't take them at face value. Five doesn't seem too bad. There are dangers of the Stair but I have not heard of kittens being among them. Still let's give it some time if they are well and truly determined to enter this place, then we have to assume this isn't just a random group of fuzzy faces."


Xantastic looks crestfallen, "Awwww I like kittens."

  "For all we know, we bring them in, everyone starts cuddling one, and they turn into sabre-tooth tigers.  Better safe than sorry."  says Dean.

"Oh, OH ! wait Dean is right. There are some things what are they called." She walked back and forth pacing.

"Ur Orobos yes that's it ! remember how I can shapeshift well it is not limited between Skye and myself. There are other shapeshifters that hire themselves out as assassins' or as trouble makers. They are not as powerful as most Wardens but in numbers. They can be a real threat. I asked numbers because I was thinking Gorgons but only five kittens is too few."

Barbara nodded with a shrug of annoyance
"That's very true.  Even on this world, appearances can be deceiving.   I know a blonde slacker girl who looks like a a teen model, and she can lift a car over her head and bounce bullets off her eyeball.  So, what do we do about the kittens?  Wait them out?  Or get some dogs or something?"

"Wow bullet proof eyes that is cool ! The kittens well if they are just kittens your little friend looks like she might want one, but if they are those shapeshifters they are pretty dangerous. We do though have a fair amount of remarkable people and at least two wardens and a room full of who knows what you showed us. I bet we could take them on and OH !" Millenia rolls her eyes, "Somedays I think she is right and I have holes in my memory. To shapeshift you need at least some umbra to you certainly not enough to be an Umbra Master or someone like me but enough for changes. If I see one I should be able to tell right away. Even Eidolon Masters could tell I have Umbra in me, kind of an extra sensory thing."

Barbara looked at Millennia for a moment,  hoping for more specific details,  then prompted her
"So.....you're saying let them in so we can deal.with them?"

"You feel up to it ?"



Xantria looks at her hammer, "Uhm do we have to smoosh kitties ?"

Barbara nodded and cracked her neck, in the way that intimidating martial artists do.
"I'm always ready for a fight"
It was a slightly less intimidating pose, of course,  since the redhead looked less like a deadly fighter and more like someone who should be extolling the virtues of a vegan diet.

She went to unlock the door.  She glanced at Xantria
"We only smoosh if we have to.  As a last option "

The kittens look up and mew soon they gather and look up at Barbara then look at Millenia and then Xantastic. They seem confused.

Millenia looks to Barbara and nods.
"Yeah smoosh." She says sadly.

Barbara, not the most sentimental  person, fired her tazer into a kitten.

"I was thinking that Tazing could count as one of my Power Words, unless there's a better way

The kitten mid adorable Mew  spazzes out it's hair stands on end and it twitches several times.

Xantria almost cries as her hammer *Smooshes a kitten quite nicely*

Jill also sadly uses the dagger that Dean gave her and surprises a kitten with a slash that surprises her by cutting the kitten in half.

Millenia had the darkness project from around one kitten which seemed to freeze up.
The dark line between the two seemed to be something psychic.

That left one.  Dean steps up, picks it up by the throat with his left hand and holds it at arm’s length.
“True form, now, and start telling who sent you or I close my grip.” he commands it.

Dean feels the little kitten struggle a bit but it's little paws claws don't penetrate do to the gifts he found left from his mother.

It slowly stretches as if something below the skin was in a kitten suit.

Several violent forms wash over it in attempt to free itself as it lashes out at Dean reminding people more of The Thing (movie) then how Millenia shifts. Eventually shifting to a guant humanoid, "Don't know true form."

“This one will do.  Answers, now.  Who sent you?   What did they pay you?  Why did they send you?  Where are they?”
Dean’s eyes have that dead killer look, like when he had been on ops back in his Special Forces days.  His right hand is still cocked back, ready...threatening.

Since this was Batgirls world, akd therefore her responsibility, her first impulse was to insist on doing the talking
However,  as soon as Dean started his tough guy routine, Barbara knew that the big man was more than qualified to take the lead.
And she was finding herself a bit hypnotized by his deep, gruff voice.

No, no, she thought to herself.   Time to focus.   She kept the other "kittens" covered withbher tazer and a baterang

The kitten Barbara tazzed comes around much faster then she thought it would take.
It gets into a crouches posture.

Barbara is fast enough to react if she wishes.  It's gaze is fixed on Xantastic.

She wings a baterang at it to knock it out
