RTJ Guidelines

Allowed classes/races
The game will be set in an imaginary city on a modern day Earth. However, this will be a contemporary fantasy game. So, there are a wide variety of characters that I would deem acceptable. Good ol' humans, members of the fae court, wizards and witches, vampires, werewolves.. all are fine. If you've read Kim Harrison's Hollows novels, then you know what I am aiming for. However, I don't want anything that's going to be too out there. No sentient bookshelves or walking voids. No god level characters that automatically hold vast amounts of power at their fingertips. But, for the most part, I'm going to be pretty lax about what I accept.

Secrety Secrets of Secretness!
One thing that I do want to implement is a mechanism to drive a bit of inter-character storytelling or drama. So, I'm going to ask everyone to submit 3 secrets about their character. And, they have to be important secrets. (They don't have to be bad secrets. But, they can't be trivial.)

Once I have a group of at least 4 new RTJs, I will put all the secrets in a hat and draw. Then, someone in the five character group will be told one secret from another character. I will make sure that only one secret per character is known by someone else. What you do with that information is up to you!  You can sit on it and do nothing. You can hold onto it and spring it IC as a point of drama/plot. You can work with the other player to form a shared connect about why you would know that secret.

If you do want to do a shared background/connection, contact me and I'll alert the other player that another player wishes to collaborate. If both parties agree, I'll share the name and you can work together.

Abandoned or Adoptable?
Sometimes, people ghost a game. That's fine. I'm cool with that. But, I would like to know what to do with your character when you skedattle.

If you want to retain full control of your character even after you leave, just let me know that you wish your character to be abandoned. I'll tuck them off somewhere and they will not be touched.

If you are fine with another player picking up where you left off, let me know that your character is adoptable, and I'll put it out there as available to any new players that may wish to join.

What to submit:

Name:
Race:
Occupation:
Background:
Three Non-trivial secrets:
Abandon or Adopt?
