He still sipped.  That much alcohol would do nothing to him at all, but one didn't want to guzzle.

"I'm guess by the funny P.J.s that you're one a them 'sooper-heroes'," the rabbit said as he drank. "What's that like?"

"Well, it's a thing, you know?" said Nonstop.  "Hang with my buds, go out, help people, stop bad guys, investigate mysteries.  It's all good.  Besides which, I've already got the powers.  It's a shame to not use them, and I'm not going to be enough of a jerk to use them to hurt people."

"Ah. Well, it's certainly a thing," the rabbit said.

"Yep," said Nonstop.  "Everybody's got their own reasons.  One friend of mine does it so people will accept him.  I feel bad that he feels he has to, but hey, at least he's making that effort.  Other people do it for fun or glory.  Or revenge.  I'm just trying to help."

"There were a few like that in my world, but the place was so chaotic and crazy it didn't really do much," the rabbit said.

"Yeah, I think I'm getting a vibe of what your world was like," said Nonstop.  "I guess most of this place is more peaceful than that."

"You can say that again," the rabbit said.

"It's not all peaceful, though," he warned the rabbit.  "Someone's out there giving people fire powers, for one thing.  Got some troublemakers around."

"Life'd be pretty boring without 'em," the rabbit said. "Given that you're a hero I bet you'll stop 'em."

"Well, here's hoping," said Nonstop.  "The problem is, I mostly can't even find them."

"I'm sure you can get 'em," the rabbit said. "You seem like a smart human."

"Maybe," said Nonstop.  "It's just been hard, so far.  Still... maybe."

The rabbit pulls out a script.

"I thought ya set up a meeting with the power brokers," he said, tossed the script and it faded from existence.

Yeah, that figured.

"Well, that's a thing, yeah," he said.  "Still... I'm hoping that it will actually work."

"I hear that criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot," the rabbit said. "I'm sure ya got it."

"Well, I hope you're right, Bugs," said Nonstop.  "I hope you're right."

"Don't worry about it. You're a superhero. You guys always come out on top," the rabbit said.

"Well, most of the time," said Nonstop.  "I ought to get going pretty soon here, though.  Will you be all right here?"

"Let me walk with ya outside," the rabbit said, standing up.

"Sure," said Nonstop.  He could probably manage, but... why not?

As soon as you and the rabbit stepped outside, he reached down and picked up the hole.

"Nice talkin' with ya!" he said as he wandered off with the hole.

"See you around, Bugs!"

Well, that was that, then.  How long until that meetup now...?

The meeting was set for early tomorrow and it was starting to get late.

Nonstop headed home.
