Just a glancing blow.

"You seem plenty slow to me," Mingmei said, going for an axe kick, tryinto drive her heel into his head.

Mauler fell to the ground!

Mingmei waited to see if he'd get up again, not dropping her guard.

He was down!  The crowd cheered.

"Jeez, just like I called it," Mingmei said.

"All right, good moves," said the masked man.  "One more round to qualify... but bad things could happen if you aren't ready.  Are you ready?"

"Ready," Mingmei said. "Hopefully it's more of a challenge."

"I think you'll find it interesting," said the MC.

A slender figure approached.  She gestured, and her hands caught fire...

"That's a neat trick you have there," Mingmei said.

The figure shrugged, and attacked!

Mingmei spun forward and lashed out with a kick.

Toughness save... 29!

The figure absorbed the attack with one burning arm...  Which was a serious issue, actually.

And then they counterattacked with a flaming punch, but it was easy to avoid.

And a 15 is a miss.

Mingmei grimaced. That hurt. Maybe less flashy. She spun away from the firegirl's punch and went for an elbow to the chest.

This blow was much more effective, and sent the fire girl reeling back... but while she was dazed, her fire still burned!

DC 20 again.  But go; she's recovering.

Mingmei cursed. That hurt. A lot.

"Go down already!" she shouted as she flew with a jump kick.

That drove the figure back, and to her knees.  She wasn't quite down yet, though, and she was now gathering fire into her hands, leaving the rest of her body normal...

"What a pain...," Mingmei said as she hopped forward with a kick aimed for her chest.

The Fire Girl went down, to the cheers of the crowd.

Mingmei posed for the crowd.

"Well done," said the MC.  He gave her a piece of paper.

"Be there tomorrow night at seven.  Come alone," he said.  "Or don't come."

"Gotcha," Mingmei said.

A police car came near, and the crowd began to scatter.

Mingmei did the same. She headed for home and made sure at one point to duck into an alley, hide herself and begin teleporting home by taking the rooftops.
