Red Fox made her way into the arena... there were crowds already, and unpleasant-looking ones, at that.

Mingmei looked around for who to report to.

It looked like fighters were gathering over there, reporting in to someone-- a man in a bright green suit patterned like snakeskin.

Mingmei headed over as well.

"...and you'll each get a number, which will assign you your slot in the roster," he was saying.  "We'll just wait for everyone to get here."

"How many are there?" Mingmei asked.

"Looks like eight of you tonight," he said.  "Convenient number."

"What're we fighting for, anyway?" Mingmei asked. "I didn't ask before, I just like fighting."
