Jake went out.  It was good to hang out with Grendel-- poor guy had a hard time getting much of a social life.

when you got home, it was quiet, but you see a not on the table.

"There is some lemonade and store bought cake in the fridge - mom"

Jake, of course, snacked before bedtime.  He made a mental note to check in on the tome in the morning...

Soon enough morning came...

Jake got up early and went to swing by the base, to see how a certain magical book was doing.

And so you arrived home without any issue.

"Hey, how's it going?" George asked, walking in the front door.

"I'm okay," your mother said. "What have you been up to?"

"Unlikely things," said George.  "Wizards, the talking magic book that is looking for a student to teach, and a cartoon rabbit somehow in this world."

"A cartoon rabbit?" your mother asked.

"A cartoon rabbit," George affirmed.  "I don't even know any more.  He picked up his hole and walked away with it..."

"That's...a little strange," your mother said. "Your sister's adventures don't get that strange."

"...what kind of trouble does she get into?" asked George, concerned.

"She just got back from the fairy realm, as I understand it," your mother said.

"Didn't expect that," said George.  "Maybe I should talk to her about it."
