The spot Dan had chosen was quite nice, if you liked nature, beautiful fields of flowers, that kind of thing.  He spread out a blanket on the grass and began unpacking a basket full of food.

"This seems nice," Umuru said, looking around.

"Thanks," said Dan.  "I brought a bunch of different foods for you to try.  That's what you like, right?"

"Yes, that sounds good," Umuru said.

Dan opened small containers of various strongly-flavored snacks.

"This is nice," Umuru said.

"Thanks!" said Dan.  "So, which ones do you particularly like?"

Feel free to invent whatever.  Dan grabbed a bunch of things at random.

"I liked the red and spicy chips," Umuru said.

"Do you like spicy things in general?" Dan asked.

Perception

"Not that much, but these were good," Umuru said.

"How about a drink?" said Dan, offering her a bottle of something.

"Sure!" Umuru said, taking it and drinking it.

...beer.  A bit bitter, some small alcohol content, and a SUDDEN SONIC BOOM THAT SHATTERED EVERYTHING MADE OF GLASS IN THE PICNIC!

Umuru leaped to her feet.

"What was that?" she asked, looking around.

Another figure with wings was descending from the heavens...

"Stay down," Umuru told Dan before flying up towards the angel.

...it was a tall woman, with a single pair of wings that blazed with fire; her entire body was surrounded by fire of many colors.

"FEAR NOT!" she said.  "I am the Angel Yarhibol.  Are you the demon Umuru?  I have a question for you that MUST BE ANSWERED!"

Her voice was incredibly loud.

"Very well," Umuru said. "Ask."

"WHERE IS THE ANGEL PAHALIAH?" the angel thundered.  "She was just around here somewhere..."

"I don't know. The last I saw of her was when we fought and then she left," Umuru said.

Yarhibol considered this.

"Did she leave a note or anything?" she asked.  "You... no, surely you didn't destroy her.  Or seduce her away, or anything like that, did you?  I WARN YOU THAT I CAN SMELL LIES!"

"No, I didn't do anything like that," Umuru said. "She left, confused after the fight."

"...So you say," said Yarhibol.  "You didn't lie, but are you absolutely certain that you didn't seduce her?  You're still intact and free, but you also say you didn't defeat her..."

"No. I did not seduce her," Umuru said. "That makes no sense."

"Why?" said Yahribol, challengingly.  "Don't you think she's cute?  What's wrong with you?"

"I have people I am dating already," Umuru said.

"You cannot expect me to believe that they are as cute as she is," Yarhibol insisted.

"There is a limit on the number of people I can date," Umuru said. "Especially since I am new to it."

"I suppose that's reasonable," said Yarhibol.  "I don't know that I like the idea of you betraying Pahaliah with someone else... and she might give into that temptation, you know.  She's a sweet, kind, innocent, pure, wonderful girl!"

"Are you wanting to date her?" Umuru asked.

The angel flushed bright red.

"I-- that is, it wouldn't be-- if she said-- I..."

"I am sorry something has happened, but I had nothing to do with it," Umuru said.

"BUT!" said Yarhibol.  "You saw her last!  Take responsibility!  Where is she?"

"How can I? I don't know what happened to her!" Umuru said.

"But YOU MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!" Yahribol declared.  "FIND HER!  You have until tomorrow at noon!"

"What is this? You are behaving like a demon," Umuru said.

"I HAVE SPOKEN!" said Yarhibol, and she shot up into the air.

Umuru floated back down to Dave.

"So, uh, I heard a lot of shouting," Dan said.  "What happened?"

"Another angel has shown up, it seems the last one disappeared and she demanded I find her," Umuru said.

"Woah," said Dan.  "Uh, what do you want to do?"

"I want to finish the date," Umuru said.

"Well, then," said Dan, "I'll put some music on, and we can try more foods, and talk, and maybe do other things, too."

Umuru nodded.

"That sounds good to me."

Dan put a pleasant tune on with his phone, sat on the blanket, and offered Umu more food.

"So... how are things going, uh, with Ehri?"

He knew that it was a risky question.  Maybe one he shouldn't ask.  But he couldn't stop himself.

"It is going well," Umuru said.

"Well, uh, that's good," said Dan, reluctantly.  "It's something that I'm still getting used to... I mean, I'm fine with it," he added hastily.  "But I'm still getting used to it."

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Umuru asked.

Dan considered this.  Thought.  Licked his lips.  Shrugged.

"...kiss me?" he suggested.

Umuru leaned in to kiss him.

He returned the kiss.  Passionately.

"Are you better now?" Umuru asked as she pulled away.

"Well, a bit," said Dan.  "But I wouldn't mind trying again, just to make sure..."

"Very well," Umuru said, leaning in again.

Dan really got into kissing a lot.  He tended to get so wrapped up in it that he forgot that they might be a little bit in public...

Umuru pulled back.

"Better now?"

"Yes," said Dan.  "...but I wouldn't mind more."

"Maybe later. What else do you have planned?" Umuru asked.

"Well, how do you feel about dancing?" Dan asked.  "I brought speakers for my phone, so I could put on some music."

"I do like dancing," Umuru said.

"Cool," said Dan, and he plugged the speakers into his phone and played a lively (if tinny) tune.

Umuru started dancing.

Dan grinned, and got up and joined her.  This tune was lively, and he threw himself into it whole-heartedly, if not gracefully.

Umuru wasn't exactly trained either.

After a short time, the music changed to something slower, and Dan attempted to swing Umu into a closer dance.

Curious, Umuru let him.

Yes, it was now a much, much closer dance, with his body pressed close against hers.

Umuru looked at Dan confused, unsure about this.

"What's wrong?" Dan asked.  "It's just close dancing."

"I haven't danced this way before," Umuru said.

"I've been close to you before, though," said Dan.  "Is this really that different?  We can stop if you want to, though."

"No, it's fine," Umuru said.

He danced with her a it more.  Somehow, this transitioned into his kissing her.

Umuru was surprised, but she did enjoy kissing...

Dan appeared to be doing that thing where he tried to see how far he could push things while kissing her; Ehri, of course, had a large number of mechanical hands that assisted her in various tasks, but Dan was giving a credible impression of being "All Hands" himself.

"May-maybe slow down a bit?" Umuru said.

"Oh, ah, sure," said Dan, awkwardly returning his hands to more neutral positions.  "Sorry.  Got carried away."

"It's okay," Umuru said.

"So, uh," said Dan.  "Are you going to look for that other Angel?"

"Are we done?" Umuru asked.

"No, we don't have to be," said Dan.  "Just wondering if you're going to do it."

"I'll look, but I don't really know anything about the angel," Umuru said.

"Well, sure," said Dan.  "...just so the other one doesn't go on a rampage or something."

"I have time," Umuru said. "So, um, what is normal for a second date?"

"Well, it kinda depends," said Dan.  "What we've done is more or less all right."

"Ah. How can we make it better?" Umuru asked.

"Well, for one thing," said Dan, grinning, but then he stopped himself.

"This is actually fine," he said.  "I mean, more Angels showing up isn't great, but obviously we can't do anything about that.  And... uh... I haven't been on a second date before, either, so I don't even know what it ought to be like."

"I guess we should head back then," Umuru said.

"Yeah, I guess so," said Dan.  He packed things up and got back on his motorcycle.

Umuru climbed on the back and grabbed hold of Dan.

Dan grinned, and he started driving her back.

...there were strange lights in the sky, but distant.

"Thank you for the date," Umuru said.

"Hey, likewise," said Dan.  "Uh, I hope we can do things again sometime soon."

"Yes, it should not be a problem," Umuru said.

"Cool," said Dan.  He drove her to Ehri's place, that being where she was staying.

"Thank you," Umuru said. "Perhaps next time we can talk about going further."

Dan's eyes lit up.

"I'd... I'd like that," he said.  "If you want to."

"Okay, I should get going," Umuru said, giving Dan a kiss and heading inside.
