Umuru seemed to settle down.

"I do want to try that," she said.

Well, fine, then.

"How do you want to do it?" she asked.  "I think most dates on this planet are two people, or at least always an even number..."

"Which means I should go first. I'm actually from Earth and I know all about dating," Dan said.

Naturally.

But Ehri was fairly exhausted from dealing with Dan already, and he did have a point.

"Fine, fine," she said.  "Go ahead."

"Are you disappointed?" Umuru asked.

Dan seemed quite elated with that and was busy doing some sort of happy dance.

"Well... I think it's fine, really," said Ehri.  "You should get to make your own decisions."

"I'm sorry for forcing my emotions on you like this...," Umuru said.

"No, it's fine," said Ehri.  "You aren't forcing anything on anyone.  Just remember that you don't have to do anything that you don't want to."

Dan was giving you a look that said he was hurt by the accusations.

Ehri ignored Dan's look.  His behavior spoke for itself, as far as she was concerned.  It was Umu's decision to make.

"Understood," Umuru said. "Thank you for your kindness."

"Of course," said Ehri.  "And remember that you're always welcome back here.  Please don't break the house when you come in, though."

"Perhaps I should get some human clothes on first," Umuru said.

"That might be good," said Ehri.  "I have some clothes here, just for appearances.  You can borrow anything that fits you."

"Not to cause offence, but you appear to be much smaller than me," Umurur said

"She might look great in them," Dan added.

"...that would be a problem, wouldn't it?" Ehri admitted.  "Well, I could probably make you something fairly simple easily enough.  What's your favorite color?"

"...black, maybe?" Umuru said.

"All right," said Ehri.  She cracked her knuckles.

"Hold your arms out at your side... Dan, turn your back for a few moments, please.  By the way, are you able to leave your tail wrapped around your waist or something, or does it tend to move around on its own?"

Dan did as he was told, as did Umuru.

"I can, yes," Umuru said. "For the most part. The first part."

"All right," said Ehri.  "Please wrap your tail around you however would be most comfortable, and try not to move for a moment..."

The Hands descended on Umu in a flurry of measuring.

Umuru did as she was told and was soon blush as the hands were thorough.

Ehri was in work mode, luckily, and being clinical.  She didn't trust herself to be a fashion designer, but she could just take designs from human popular media, and with her vast intellect, tools and many, many Hands, she quickly put together a simple dress and jacket for Umu.

"...and there you are," she said.  "Not too elaborate, but it should do for now."

"Ah! Thank you," Umuru said, getting dressed.

"All right," said Ehri.  "Dan, what do you actually intend to do now that you actually have a date?"
