Hello, glad to be here! I'm excited to see what we can get up to here in Phaendar before the invasion turns everything end over teakettle as they say. And then I hope we can save our town and our land. Looks to be trying times ahead eh?

I'll probably let you play around in the Festival for a few day while everyone gets sorted and gets their character built- but then we'll be jumping right into the action. :)

GM, what would be the most common languages spoken in Phaendar? Since Wulf is born and raised here I want to make it fit thematically.

The most common languages of Nirmathas are Common and Hallit, with heavy pockets of native Dwarven and Elven speakers. Characters with additional language choices stand to learn much about the region’s history if they speak Sylvan, and can negotiate with or threaten their inhuman adversaries with knowledge of Draconic, Goblin, and Undercommon.


But FYI, in my version of Golarion the regional human languages are just different dialects of Common.  So if you speak Hallit, you understand common and vice versa.  It would just be akin to a Brit speaking to an American.

Should be through generation tomorrow if things go to plan.

Then just a description and such to flesh out and should be good to go.

Welcome to our final adventurer Svetlana!

I've also started a Side Story thread for each of you.  We will be using these threads anytime you will be taking individual action.  The primary purpose will be for downtime type activities.  In game there will be stretches of day(s) and week(s) where you wont be doing standard adventure day party things.  You can use your individual thread to tell me what you want to be doing during that time.  It can range from simple things like reading an important book or crafting some equipment, to more complex things like mentoring or learning from other NPCs.

Usually, these won't be terribly involved.   I'm imagining a post or two back and forth between us to span a large gap of time.  A lot of the time, you could treat it almost like a journal entry were you can just describe what you were up to.  I will then just fill in the missing gaps, and work in what you were doing into the main story more broadly.

Additionally, these threads can be used if someone gets separated for an extended period of time.  In fact, I plan to start off the game using these Side Stories since you aren't a party yet.  I'll let you explore Phaendar for a few days (irl) before everything goes pear-shaped and throws you all together.  I'll be using your writing prompts as a basis of how you worked your way into the town as an intro, and let you each head out from there.

I was told y'all needed gratuitous ruin.  I have this thing.  And in any case, Sveta was originally from Varisia, crossed east to Ustalav a handful of years back, and spent last winter on the battlements in Lastwall.  If that crosses anyone's path, let's talk.  My gut says the other slavic name is a strong chance.  That's what, Romanian?

Sorry for short absence there, was traveling for work for the bulk of the day yesterday and immediately jumped in to work this morning.

Actually Ordrik, reading your character description, I think we might have some brawling ties. In my intro I tied in a friend that is an apprentice of Kining and you've added in a flunkie of theirs. So I think when you really get things going at the Root, Wulf and his pal Sam, have probably jumped into the mess as well. With the time you've been here we've probably had several occasions brawling against ya and several brawling alongside ya. When it comes to a good old fashioned tavern fight Sam and Wulf haven't got any allegiances beyond each other and whoever seems to be getting the worst of it. Sam is mute by the by but a good lad. And I think I'll be taken dwarvish after all for my second language so there's that as well.

I'll admit, I don't get it...

I thought I'd try my hand at a STR-Rogue, so pretty much hoping we get into a bar fight in the first session. Locks broken > locks picked. Lol.

I can guarantee this.  Sveta is likely to get in more than the boys do.  If she has to fight Ordrik herself, this will be.

So how does the startup work? Should we just start posting in our separate adventure threads, and go from there? Would you like us to wait on something or other before we get going?

Perhaps we could just port over out introduction from PMs? Or spiff it up a bit.

I believe my character sheet and description are ready to go. Just need approval from the GM. Right now my equipment on the sheet is split up into where it came from. Once approved I'll just readjust the organization to make more sense going forward.

I'm essentially done too.  I have a couple things to talk with GM about before I can call the sheet final, but nothing that should get in the way of starting—no major decisions unmade.  A written description will come... uh, when I find the right place to start it from.  And sometimes that isn't obvious until the first scene is underway and I check which details were important enough to bring in during.

I'm assuming at this point we're just cooling our heels until things start.

It looks like the GM has been MIA for a bit so they may well be caught up in some of the weather related issues currently going around if they're North America based.
