You are free to post in the Broadcast anytime.  Although it is not my intent to be an active participant in that IC thread.  I may jump in from time to time though, much like I did with Gallium.

Good Morning Everyone.  As you've noticed, I try to post at least once every day to someone's thread.  Weekends tend to be a little difficult.  I have children involved in sports, which keeps me busy and out of the bar.  I likely won't be able to get back on until Sunday, due to an out of town volleyball tournament.  Happy heroing!

You know ICONS Assembled says nothing about 'Stunts' only ICONS Core rules... honestly I like ICONS Core better! I like the way it defined powers like elemental control.
I have no idea how I can get any of the powers normally associated with my control power like ~ Dazzle, Shape, Image, Aura, Move, Strike 'light sword' and the like. 'sigh'

They're all extras. Some of Miracle's various modes have themes power sets: Red Rage deals a lot with fire, Blue Joy with air, and Clear Calm has "Emotion" defined as an Elemental Control variant. This is something I take extensive use of.

I'll add to the "OOC Gaming Aid" the steps of activating qualities in order to gain advantage and how to use advantage.  The stunts section can be found on page 35 of Icons Assembled.  As I'm new to Icons, I'm not terribly comfortable with my interpretation.  Feel free to chime in once I have that post up.

I went ahead and posted for you Gallium.  That thread has been in hold mode since the 22nd.  I get that things come up and it's not a knock against you.  My plan going forward is to give players four days to post (starting from the day that the player last posted).  A lack of posting in that timeframe will open up my opportunity to go ahead an post on their behalf.

No problem I was just throwing off the side effects of the stomach cramps I had ("after cramps").  Thank you for the spur into posting today.

He was not up in the air.  When I wrote, "rose up from the ground", it meant that he stood since he was knocked prone.  The continued text hopefully portrayed that he was on his feet, which were touching the ground.  I apologize for any confusion.

He is now about 10' in the air due to the push from Star Phoenix, before being met by Event Horizon.

Yay! RPoL has been unimaginably slow this last week! Easter weekend SUUUUUUCKS and I hope yours was fun and filled with chocolate and favorable family meetings.

No so much on the chocolate side... but we spent a day each at Disney's Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.  Then we came home to terrible roads.  The drive from Denver usually takes about 6.5 hours but once we hit Wyoming, there was 4 to 6 inches on snow on the roads.  Didn't get home until 11:00pm.  Soooo glad I took an extra day off of work to recoup and do laundry.

Miracle asks a great question... "Do we really need to keep doing this? We rescued the NPCs and the tubers can't hurt us."  This is in reference to mooks, minions, canon fodder... whatever you want to call them.  There is the option on page 42 of the Icons: The Assembled Edition that we might want to adopt.  Is anyone opposed to going in this direction?

re: the minion question. That's fine by me. Anything that makes the game more narrative and less number crunchy/bookkeeping works IMHO.

As a GM and a player I have always erred on the side of ending combat early the moment the outcome is clear. No one enjoys the mop-up phase of a fight. It doesn't really matter if they're 1-HP minions or not; the battle is over, the day is saved, and the remaining baddies should have the decency to either flee and never darken our doorsteps again, or to conveniently keel over and die from their injuries.

Er, I'm all about the drama of it all... if clean up is part of that drama.. I'm all for it if not I leave it to the DM.  As for minions rules... 'shrug' I'm fine with the DM using the brutes and Lieut rules like 7th Sea..sure one hit takes out a mook etc.. that works for me.

I will be starting the first issue of Sins of Stark City soon, where every hero will be part of the thread.  Solo issues and team ups might still be playing out though, so you'll want to watch those threads as well.

Miracle is an artificial person... sentient and deserving of rights, respect and liberty, of course... but she doesn't 'LIVE' in the real world she lives out of a research lab.  She doesn't go to school or have family and personal friends to protect or need to work for a living ...so why would she need a "Secret Id"?

Laurence wears a track suit and a mask, so he isn't trying hard to protect his identity. Hell, Marigold could probably figure it out on deduction alone.

I can't remember if I ever described how Miracle works. I don't want to tell you everything and kill the mystery, but I would like to establish the basic principles.

Mira has eight "modes" that she switches between. A Clear Calm mode she defaults into, and then seven modes arranged according to the colors of the Lantern Corps. Her Green Determination mode is the most versatile and easiest to control, but the further from green she goes the more the different emotions dominate her behavior and the harder it is for her to switch back out. When she does switch out it takes a page of preparation, she has a chance of burning out the mode for the remainder of the scene, and once she's in a colored mode she needs an emotional kick from an ally to change again. The more notches she has to move on the spectrum, the more difficult the change.

The spectrum is:

Rage - Avarice - Fear - Determination - Hope - Compassion - Love

This isn't a circle like you might have seen on a color wheel; Love does not wrap around to Rage.

I'm going to expound on the practical side of things a bit more with my next IC post, but Miracle's ability to explain her needs is limited by her very low intellect. For the sake of dispelling ambiguity, what she will be trying to say is that she has a powerful healing ability in her Indigo Compassion mode, but because she's already channeling Hope she'll need emotional support to move up one notch on the emotional spectrum.

TL;DR version: Miracle needs emotional support from the party to use her full abilities!

Oh, also: in Blue Hope form she has rank 3 Probability Control (Good) with Affects Others, so the party has the equivalent of three bonus Determination points they can spend instead of their own (at least until Mira changes modes).

Happy Mira is not Brave Mira! Brave Mira is green Mira. Is hard to be happy when you're faced with injured people, and helping injured people is a bit more of a specialty skill than saving trapped people, so I figured a compassionate Mira would trust in the other mighty heroes to rescue the others and heal them as they came out.

Mira is not always the most forward-thinking of heroes. She deals with what's right in front of her face. Thinking is for smart people!

Unless I very much am misunderstanding things I think the GM giving our experience points in the form of determination points to have been an error. I admit I haven't read far enough in the book to have seen the progression rules, but if our experience points are a consumable resource then I'm going to have to rethink how I play moving forward.

My understanding is that we have one character point, which is distinct from the things we spend per-scene on little bonuses.

In my experience on RPoL the real milestone that games struggle to break through is 400 posts. Of course practically speaking most of us haven't had a full 300 posts of content due to private threads of other players that we cannot read.

I've been exceptionally busy this week and will continue to be exceptionally busy until at least the weekend. Another game I am in is in its final few encounters and my character's superpowered evil side seems to be supplanting the final boss in the complexity of her encounter so I've been working with that game's GM to create materials and dialogue and stuff so that the game can end with an appropriately explosive climax.

I did manage to write Marigold's bit, which I'm going to put up shortly, but as for Miracle herself I may just need to toss in a one- or two-line "this is what she is gonna do" style no-effort post. Sorry.

Star Phoenix,  Just to make sure were clear, it's Event Horizon that has the concussion, not The Troll.  And while there is no game mechanic for concussions, I do expect that Event Horizon will keep his head injury in mind, in his narrations.

Opps! Don't know how I conflated that... gonna fix that...!
