Narrator:
There are several individuals that are trapped/injured inside the building, not just the one that I specifically pointed out to Alloy. I see now that I only gave the very faintest of hints that there are others throughout the building, and I apologize for my vagueness. The part of the building that collapsed was intended to create a sense of urgency. I was hoping to create a scene that allowed each of you to write a bit on your hero's bravery as they rush into a collapsing building to save a/many imperiled bystander(s). I may have failed terribly at that attempt...
Happy Mira is not Brave Mira! Brave Mira is green Mira. Is hard to be happy when you're faced with injured people, and helping injured people is a bit more of a specialty skill than saving trapped people, so I figured a compassionate Mira would trust in the other mighty heroes to rescue the others and heal them as they came out.
Mira is not always the most forward-thinking of heroes. She deals with what's right in front of her face. Thinking is for smart people!
Star Phoenix:
If necessary I will spend my single Determination point to alter the pace of events so Star can get to the man and at least make the current attempt to save him. Sigh.. I Always seem to end up spending my determination quickly.. I can never save it up for power advancements or skills.
Unless I very much am misunderstanding things I think the GM giving our experience points in the form of determination points to have been an error. I admit I haven't read far enough in the book to have seen the progression rules, but if our experience points are a consumable resource then I'm going to have to rethink how I play moving forward.
My understanding is that we have one character point, which is distinct from the things we spend per-scene on little bonuses.
