2.4 What Hath Night... II (George, Lilith, Twiddle)
Twiddle went to a private section of the park, known only to Fae. Any place in the natural world had some level of connection to the Faelands. Although the closer it was to the city the more strained that connection was.
That was just fine for Twiddle. The last thing he needed was a full portal back home, where anything and anyone could be looking for him. Although he doubted he warranted such efforts among his people, the Huntman still hungered for revenge, and the Queen wished him silenced by the simplest method-which more often than not was death. In fact, Twiddle was fairly sure the Queen considered him being on earth was a death sentence...because nothing here was truly immortal like in Faeland.
As he found the mushroom ring within the darkened section of the park, he sighed as he sensed the connection to his true home grow stronger. Did he miss home? No. He knew everything that happened there, and everything that would happen. It was simpler then it sounded, because nothing new ever happened. Such was the fate of immortal beings who thought themselves gods.
He still had some...friends? Well, they where not like friendships that mortals have. No Fae truly loved another. The selfishness and the delusion of perfection ran too strong. However, there where Fae that Twiddle preferred the company of, once upon a time. He knew they would be drawn upon the mention of their name, so close to one of the viewing circles.
"Scamperskiddlypompom." He said, saying the name over and over. Scamper would not come through the viewing circle, but upon Twiddle's calling of the name, it would draw close to see who was invoking it. Twiddle made sure to stay on earth. So that just in case Scamper tried to reach out, it would feel Earth's entropy and decay and be forced to withdraw. He was fairly sure his old friend would not try to hurt him or call the Huntsman...but Fae where Fae. They may not be able to tell outright lies, but they could lie by omission.
The ring of toadstools glowed, as if with bioluminescent. Then the colors grew brighter, and the lights connected, forming a true ring of glowing energy. Two orbs of green fire appeared, hovering above the circle. They seemed to regard Twiddle as if they where a pair of eyes, and spun around each other. Until they smashed together and formed a person. A young lady in fine clothing, her dainty feet not touching the ground.
She stared at him, silently. Examining him like he was something new. Something she had never seen before. For a Fae, that is a huge deal-given how much the creatures have witnessed throughout time.
"Hello Scamper." He said with a huge smile. "It's me, Twiddle. I missed you." She blinked in surprise, as if expecting something to happen to him. "Its not a lie...its the truth. See?" He gestured to the body he now wore, showing it no worse for wear.
"I was hoping you could help an old friend...for a fair price of course."
