A Grand Coven of thirteen Witches invaded Morden to launch the Bane War. When the Djinn fell, the coven sundered. Each of the Witches who remained behind has her own set of minions and goals.

Baba Yaga - She is a harbinger of doom, a much sought after seer, and a master manipulator of both men and beasts.  Her banes focus on the horrors of the Northern wastes, and her Accursed are the Vargr who transform into lupine beasts

The Blood Witch -- The Seductively beautiful Countess Sanguinara Nasady holds elaborate court sessions and decadent parties from her palace in Valkenholm’s capitol of Kulidar.  Her banes deal in the pleasures and pain of blood, and her Accursed are the Dhampyr who are drawn to it.

The Chimera -- her depraved experiments in manipulating and combining living things. When her work is complete, she abandons the test subjects, who exhaust their pain and fury upon whatever victims happen to be nearby. Her banes are the monstrous results of her experiments, and her Accursed are Mongrels who epitomize her experiments.

The Crone -- She personifies the withered, haggard caricature of a depraved Witch, as well as the hate, brutality, and greed that formed the dark image.  Her banes are animated objects, energized by the storm’s rage, and her Accursed are golems built from a range of materials.

The Dark Queen -- Hecate holds purview over the spectral dead— those immaterial entities who refuse to depart the physical realm. Her banes are spectral entities, and her Accursed are Shades trapped between the physical and ethereal realities.

The Djinn -- The Bane War abruptly ended when the mistress of wish magic vanished. Since that time, her followers have sought to find her, so they might resume the war under her guidance.  Her Accursed are undead Mummies who use their sarcophagi as weapons.

The Gorgon -- The Gorgon’s creations are all serpentine in nature, often slithering through the shadows, and her Accursed are Ophidian hybrids of serpents and humans.

The Morrigan -- Lady Macha conquered Cairn Kainen almost singlehandedly in the early days of the Bane War.  The Morrigan’s banes all come from the bodies of her foes, after stewing in her Dark Cauldron. Vengeance drives her Revenant Accursed to try to change Morden.
