Descending Fire 16, RY 768

Three weeks after his talk with Lyra, Gou finally departed alone for Sapphire. His fellow Lunar departed a week before him make contact with the local resistance. The Full Moon decided to transform and swim to the city-state and would need a little more than four days to reach it.

The nights began to fall on his second days of travel when the shapeshifted Lunar scented something in the water: blood.

The days following his discussion are spent honing his prowess as a Lunar, which in this case involve exploring the nearby island and seas for worthy beasts whose forms he can take. In addition to turning into a seagull and an octopus, he acquires animal shapes ranging from cute little kittens (it hurt his heart, but he had to do it) to a regal silverback, all the way up to a hippopotamus, though most of them still have a faint bluish trail or bluish spines along their spine when he assumes them.


As he swims through the waters in the form of a benthic knifetooth, his mouth open so he can taste/smell the water better, he scents. Curious, he decides to follow...

OOC: Benthic Knifetooths are from p.556 of the corebook. THeir senses roll is 6 dice, which is 1 more than Gou's Per+Survival of 5 dice...

Gou followed the smell of blood for one or two kilometres before he could see its origin: a large armoured kraken slowly swimming near the surface. The Lunar could see large wounds on the beast  and only seven of its 10 tentacles remained. It was obvious that the kraken recently had a hard fight.

The Full-Moon could maybe use this opportunity to add a powerful shape to his repertory.

[OOC: I let you roll Join Battle, the Kraken is a 6 initiative. If you want to sneak on it you need a Dex+Stealth roll opposed by the Kraken (he rolled 1 success). I you succeed you wneak in close range and can make an ambush, if you fail it detect you when you are in long range.]

It is only when Gou literally bumps into the armored kraken itself that he realizes how close he is to it. Fortunately, his  Cursing his lack of familiarity with the creature's senses, he silently thanks Luna that the beast is so big it didn't notice him, and he plans his next move.

Clearly it would be best to engage something this big in his sea tyrant form, but he needs to go in with a proper plan of attack. Plus, shapeshifting takes time... In this case... It would be best to savage a wound and confuse it before transforming.

Sorry, old boy. I promise I'll deal with whoever did this to you.

Gou will try to bite the creature's vitals with a withering attack to crash it, and then use the Initiative Shift on his next action to go Godzilla Mode.

If it's a successful ambush, then it's against DV 0. so 9 + 15d - soak (15?) Either way the remainder should be enough to crash it... or not.

Descending Fire 16, RY 768

The Lunar attacked the Kraken without warning, and while smaller he had the benefice of his momentum and targetted a spot where the armoured hide of the Kraken was gone. But Gou’s prey managed to barely keep his bearing.

Gou essence poured into his body, remaking and enlarging it until he became an enormous shape nearly as large as his opponent. The time to change was enough for the Kraken to turn a little and lash with his arms with a deep growl. The attack knocked back Gou a little but was not that effective.

[OOC: You fail to crash it just because of his Impenetrable Armour abiltiy. He counter attack but only manage 1 success in damage. You can see the resume in the combat log. For the mote I drew from your internal pool (with 15 motes committed for your shape), to keep your shape you will need to spend 5 motes by turn.
Turn 3: Gou (8i), Kraken (3i)]

Gou's roar thunders underwater like a churning wave as he swells and enlarges to his full totemic form, andas its tentacles close around his limbs, he savagely mauls the Armored Kraken, trying to break it open like a coconut.
OOC: In Sea Titan form now.

Withering attack on the bugger, rolling 11 dice +2d for stunt = 13 dice. He uses Striking Mospid Method for 4m to reroll 3 failed dice.

Hopefully 3 successes hits; if it does he deals 16 damage before soak.

Under the silver light of Gou’s Anima, the two enormous marine predator exchanged blows but none of them managed to truly take advantage.

OOC: Sorry but it has 5 parry so you don't touch it. His counter-attack manage only to hit but no damage.
Since you used your peripheral pool for shapeshifting, youre anima is at bonfire (and you have 4 Willlpower, Towering Beast Form take 1WP).
The turn was not that succesfull.

Gou curses his weakness, and a nagging doubt begins to grow through him; is he right in doing this? Would it even make sense for him to claim the shape of a wounded creature? Does he even deserve it if he can't overcome it in its weakened state? Nevertheless, he decides to give it another try...

He bats the Krakens' flailing limbs with his massive head and goes for another bite...
