Jianzhen's Home
Kang grunted. He felt the subtle dread of having his moves being planned by his opponent rather than himself. It had been several minutes since his turn started as he debated internally whether to take a wild move to try to throw the Elder off-balance or continue to play into the Elder's plan. The offer for more tea was a welcome break from his plotting; Kang's focused grimace cracked a friendly smile,
"Yes please, though I am afraid I already drank most of the pot."
Kang's thirst was prodigious, he had already drank through the foul-smelling beverage he brought for himself and was now sipping his way through his host's supply of tea. Unfortunately the only thing being well-hydrated was accomplishing was supplying plenty of sweat for Kang's brow as he plotted.
After a few more sips, Kang finally decided on his course of action. The Elder was in too good of a position to directly challenge for a victory, the only way for Kang to save face was to ensure neither of them could win. Well, or try to ensure neither of them could win. But first, he needed to lull the Elder into a false sense of security, so Kang did his best to give a convincing, exaggerated sigh of resignation and began to mirror the Elder's moves -- as if he had run out of ideas of his own and was reduced to mindlessly ape the Elder.
