I don't think they reduce your body to ash, if anything I do believe warp flames would originate from inside your body and burn outwards stopping once all combustible material in the human body is exhausted. I believe your skeleton, though blackened, would still remain if a bit mutated from said warp flames.

Starting cash is determined by your social rank (career essentially) as standard. By the book. You may 'sell' starting items for their book cost.

Well Cyber Mastiff Handler, which a tech priest can take as a starting career option and I did, gives the Acolyte one "Bloodhound" Cyber-mastiff (see page 73) and a Constructer Interface Augmetic (see page 77). Basically it gives you the starting Cyber Dog and means to control it easier, it's in book of judgement pg 44. Normally the Bloodhound costs 5,000 thrones and is Rare and I already have the Constructer Interface Augmetic as there isn't really a price for it in the book. In the last game the GM said that though I wouldn't start with one when I got the funds I could buy one at a reduced rarity.

The Constructer Interface Augmetic sounds like a specialist MIU and would be the same price. You may certainly buy (or more likely for a tech-priest construct) both that and the mastiff once you have the funds, skills and pull.

Be very careful regarding maintenance and repair costs though. Had a guy in a TT game who was determined to play Sororitas. He changed his mind when he realised that his stipend (giving up eating drinking and sleeping) would buy him a bit less than 2(two) rounds for his bolter a month and that he simply couldn't afford to maintain his PA. You can (presumably) cover the 'skill' portion of maint and repair on a cyber-mastiff but you still need consumables for maint and repair will bankrupt you.

Benefits: Upon taking this career the Acolyte automatically

Consider yourself warned again regarding maint (50T/mnth) and repair (1k-2.5k).
