"Agreed. It's already overdue." Adela agreed with a grim set of lips and expression as she steeled her will and the memories of her own brief pilgrimage to Terra and the brutality of the training there and at the feet of the witches of Dusk flashed in her mind. There was nothing more for it than to be about the task and hope that combined they were enough to combat the malice of the Neverborn. The Lady's borderline curse left uncommented upon but noted quietly in the back of her mind.

"This is most interesting, I would like to take some base line biological readings from everyone once this event is handled." He said seeing the other getting rather worked up and wondering just what was going on chemically in there brain for there response to a daemon to be this and not fear as was common to most people. All the while his companion stayed close to him till he looked at there defacto leader "Would you like this one to lead the way?" He asked motioning to himself and his companion between wheezing breathes of his respirator unit.

"Okay" Pearl replied. "Take the auspex then." she handed Cedrik the item in question, then waved him forward.

Aurelius continued to be quiet, his eyelids narrowing when the corrupted entity spoke to them.  His only reply was to Pearl when he nodded adding, "I think tea and a banishing would go nicely.  Perhaps some crumpets afterwards."

"I think blood and banishing sounds better..." Drezla replied, amused by her own little quip.

So much so that it kept her from fully focusing on her surroundings.

"Very interesting." the techpriest said as he walked looking at the wrist mounted display for it's companions auxspex "I am picking up high levels of human feces, urine, blood and fear which isn't to out of place on a ship but I am getting something else." It said as it tapped away on the display "Let mm see if I can enhance this at all." it seemed to mumble tapping away still.

Adela held her ready pose as the moved forward and the read outs were provided by the Tech Priest, her jaw tensed as she listened, smelled, and tried to just flat out feel out her surroundings in a mortal sense. The fog of sorcerous energy though continued to bleed through into her perceptions like a pervasive static and only made her all the more nervous as her grip tightened on her auto-pistol and she reset the stance of her shield.

Aurelius did his best to ignore the smell.  It was the smell of death, fear, depravity, falling to Chaos.  It was cloying though and wanted in so he focused on his mnemonic training to recite verses silently in his mind, his focused face keeping watch even if the jaw muscle below the helmet shield seemed clenched.

"I'm sensing someone using warp powers up ahead" she says to the others "Perhaps Adela and I should take the lead, use our shields as a buffer for any attacks?"

Aurelius narrowed his eyes at the revelation but wasn’t surprised considering the initial invitation and ward to the place.  He nodded slightly, ”You two are the specialists after all.  If you can give warning to the rest of us to react if needed all the better…but if I say drop, get down.  This cannon can be a bit indiscriminate at times.”

Moving along, you begin to hear a lone voice coming from one of the side compartments. Alternately pleading, cajoling, threatening and persuading, he gives a good speech, whoever he is. It doesn't seem to work, for with an inarticulate growl of frustration, he storms out into the corridor in front of you. Starting in surprise when he notices you, he looks you over, a broad grin appearing on his face before he hastily schools it back to neutrality. "Inquisition!" he says happily.

Now you know you are in trouble. When people are happy to see the Inquisition, the fecal matter has well and truly struck the air recycler.

He wears (I use the term loosely) only a flak jacket, and carries a shotgun with fixed bayonet. He has the blackest skin you have ever seen, with a pair of parallel scars marked out in red ochre on his left cheek and a Sanctioning brand picked out in white on the other. "Um, hello. Kimbe n'DeBele, ships psycher. Are you here for the demon?"

It was old instinct to be suspicion of any psyker that was present in the same place as one of the neverborn. The argument that had proceeded his entrance only deepening that suspicion as Adela moved to the fore with shield ready and pistol at the ready. Her ethereal senses stretching out to pick out some hint of something about the man before them as she left the act of talking to the others more inclined to such things.

"We are the Inquisition and we are here to combat the daemon, place your weapons on the ground and show us your hands" She says pointing the heavy pistol at the centre of the newcomers head preparing to fire if needed, everything they come into contact with at this point is suspect.

He looked startled, but moved quickly enough, psychers were taught to obey after all. Leaning the gun up against the wall, he held out his hands, turning them back and forth so that both sides were visible.

Aurelius chuckled lightly as he kept his shot cannon trained on the man, ”You do realize the irony in that if he is truly the ships Psyker he could care less about that gun.  Their minds are their most dangerous weapons.”

His eyes flitted towards the corridor that he came from, ”Sounded like you were trying to convince someone or someone’s a moment ago to no avail.  Are there others back that way?”

Aoife gave Aurelius a look like he was an idiot, due to the fact she was also a psyker and knew about the powers her kind possessed better then he did. Holstering her pistol and picking up the weapon and passing it back to C3D-R1K before re-drawing her pistol and awaits a response to Aurelius' question.

"I am a skilled telekine" Kimbe agrees "but using a weapon is safer." He nodded at the compartment. "Fear zombies. Most of our detachment to be honest. I was trying to rally them, but they are useless."

"Are any of them corrupted?" She asks the telekine "Do we need to provide sanction to them or grant them the Emperor's Peace?"

The situation seemed just a fraction more grim at that declaration. The weak willed were a liability in the presence of the Neverborn but that was merely belaboring the point and the only pertinent question had already been fielded. That thought in mind, Adela simply worked to keep attentive of their surroundings and whatever emanations might herald the arrival of their... prey. She had to suppose that was the right word as the playfield was hardly level when it came to such beings.

Kimbe shrugged. "The Lieutenant had us put them in there. Said they would recover when we banished the demon. He is a Ship's Officer, figure he knows what he is talking about." Another shrug. "Not like they are a threat the same way as the rage zombies or the rape zombies."
