Morrigan's Sanctum

Virgil slides his way on over to the cookies, and cracks open a bottle of water and downs most of it in a swift gulp.

Morrigan's Sanctum

A woman walks south, unhurried, following the shoreline. She is wearing a practical hiking outfit and a large backpack with a bow and quiver strapped to it. In her right hand, she carries a pair of hiking boots, with the brown woollen socks socks carefully stuffed in. Her bare feed move gracefully on the sand, and from time to time she stops, to look out at the waves, the seagulls or the beach.

She stops on the beach below Morrigan's house, mutters a few words to herself and ascends.

Morrigan's Sanctum

Aegis had simply nodded in agreement when Vagrant announced their arrival at their destination, and waited patiently for his mentor to put his shoes back on. Aegis had kept his own, but now was regretting that decision as sand had seeped into well-worn sneakers that had at one time been white; yet another lesson the old man had taught him without saying a word.

He had nodded politely to Morrigan when she greeted them, but his attention was fully focused on the grandeur of the magus' house. He'd never been to the beach before, and now to be staying at such an amazing house right on the beach; he honestly couldn't even process it. He instinctively slid his hands down his faded, by wear not a factory, blue jeans in an attempt to make himself more presentable, and pushed the sleeves of his red hoodie up before sliding his hands into his pockets.

For a moment he just stared as he walked around the room and then finally walked over to the table, grabbed a chocolate chip cookie, and began to nibble as he continued perusing the room, seemingly ignorant of the request that came from the kitchen.

Morrigan's Sanctum

“Hey, Morrigan, I’d like to make a deal with you. There’s a lot going on here, and I’d like a better awareness of the space around me. I was just curious if you were interested in partaking in this boon as well.” Virgil then continued to chew his cookie. “Also, these cookies are divine.”

Morrigan looks bored as Virgil comments on the growing gathering.

"Oh, this will only worsen. I assure you. Let me take the deal in exchange for the cookie and you can keep eating."

She'll accept whatever boon you offer her.

The wind rattles the windows softly in the background. The sound of conversation drifts from outside the house past the door but fades to an unintelligible murmur.

Morrigan's Sanctum

"Thanks for saying something before you cast. Simple courtesies, I swear" she whispers to Virgil

She thinks to herself Oh this is trippy, I can see the whole house from here

"Thanks for the awareness. This is going to make greeting people interesting."

Morrigan stands and moves to the nearest wall. She follows the edges of the wall and shuffles sideways back to the hallway and then to the door where she resumes her vigil as guests arrive.

Passing Vagrant, Aegis, and Sharvara she'll say "Welcome is this your first time in Quincy? I'm Morrigan, I'll start my spiel once everyone arrives. I tend to get new mages while they settle into town and the greater Boston area. Do enjoy the cookies, I'm glad they came out really good this time."

She'll talk with them while she stands in the doorway.

At the same time, she will gesture to Isis and her guard to enter the house.

After her invitation inside then enters and looks around at all the new people standing around or eating cookies.  She watched as Virgil offered her a cookie with a special flavor and the reaction was interesting.

"Thank you Morrigan.  Is the beach area available to enjoy? she asked just in case she might need a bit of time alone.

Hearing someone from further in the house call for help ‘from a nice obromos’, Vagrant turns and raises a questioning eyebrow at Morrigan.

“Would you mind if I worked a little magic?” he asks.

To Isis, Morrigan replies "The beach is available, and far less crowded than the house. I just ask you to return once the full group arrives."

To Vagrant she says "Depends, if your just warming up the tea then sure."

Another arrival - this time a fit young man with vivid red hair and a large moustache.  He walks up the road from town, wearing work boots, jeans and a peacoat with a small duffel bag over his shoulder.  He moves partway up the steps, but seeing another ahead of him he stops, keeping a polite distance a few steps down from the door and waiting for Morrigan to appear.

A bullish young man in plain black tacticals with the smooth muscles of the long-distance runner pulled up outside the house. Studying it a moment he nodded to himself, folded his bicycle and clamped it to his pack then headed in.

Seeing Vagrant he gave him a formal nod, and Virgil received a smile and a wave-over.

Upon seeing Vagrant and his group walk in, then followed by Hunter, Virgil felt as if this may be more than a coincidence. This was going to get interesting. He approaches Hunter, pulling him in for a warm embrace. “How long has it been old friend?” he says out loud, as he subtly whispers something into his ear.

"A while, a while." Hunter replied, hoping like hell that Virgil would remember that he was terrible at play-pretend games. This was his first real mission for the Arrows, and he was anxious not to fuck it up. Still, it gave him to chance to advance his own agenda, and he pulled the water bottle off his belt. "My latest offering. Draws mana from the wearer and stores it, may be recovered or transferred by drinking the water. Can do a latte thermos for the city slicker types. Think it will sell?"

A look of amazement crossed Virgil’s face. “This is amazing! I would’ve never thought about a concept like that. I might know one or two people, other than myself, that can really help you get that bad boy on the market.” Virgil then wiped the obvious dollar signs from his eyes. “You never cease to amaze me.”

Having gotten permission from their host Vagrant turned to see the familiar face of Virgil, the young mage who had proven himself so resourceful in the past. Not wanting to interrupt his apparent reunion with Hunter though, Vagrant merely gave a respectful nod as their eyes met before moving towards the kitchen where he had heard the request for help coming from.

“So, what can a kindly old obrimos do for you?”
he asked the young lady he found standing in the kitchen.

Certainly not one of the first to arrive, but perhaps not the last either, Kairos makes his way up to the house on foot it appears with a single large bag slung over his shoulder in which he is carrying his belongings. Whether he walked this whole way or merely was dropped off a short ways off and walked the rest - perhaps to hide where exactly he was going - was anyone's guess. Once he made it to the porch, he gave Morrigan a friendly smile and nodded.

"My thanks for the invitation and hospitality. Sorry if I'm a bit late, however," he stated, but didn't go into any real explanation of the events.

Morrigan's Sanctum

Morrigan greets Strawberry, Konkretus, and Kairos as they arrive.

"Welcome to Quincy, I'm Morrigan. There are cookies, water, and beer in the living room. There's magical tea in the kitchen."

She'll welcome everyone into the house before she proceeds to gather everyone in the living room.

"I'll keep this short. Welcome to Quincy, I'm Morrigan, Moros of the Mysterium. I offer you all sanctum, passage, and hospitality here. There are few other mages in Quincy, honestly, you lot outnumber them by 5 easily. Do not attract Seer attention here and do not attract the Boston consilium's attention here. The perk of Quincy is it's close enough you can drive into town but far enough away no one's looking. Change that and you can deal w/ the seers and hierarchs 'subtle' ministrations."

"There are keys in the kitchen that open spacial doors in this house, pick a key and it will always open a door to "your" room and your room only. If you just open the door normally minus the key, you'll probably get a closet or whatever is normally there. "

"Lastly, don't drain the hallow. It produces 4 tass daily, just take the seashells. Oh, I trap and keep ghosts in the basement. They're mean, go down shielded if you need something down there."

"Questions?"

Strawberry thanks the hostess and takes a key right away. She picks a key and deposits her backpack in her room. When she returns, she introduces herself to all those who want to know with a pleasant smile:

"Strawberry, Thyrsus Mysterium."

Privately, she wonders at the gathering of mages. When the Mysterium had asked for her presence there, she had been given little explanation as to what she was to find there. So she listens and watches the others, trying to get a first impression of the place.
