Re: OoC
Well, I had hoped that the offer Derek put forward would have been taken for more than one reason, but it wasn't to be I guess. The scene speaks for itself, with the ending bit more oriented towards whether insults were being aimed at his Clan or him personally - which the way it went looks like the insults were indeed intended for 'the Clan as a whole' given the exit chosen.
In that event, Derek was originally going to use a Sabbat trap that was set up at the very beginning of the scene. With the expressed concern that Andrew may have been a Sabbat (turned or captured) and the cause of Darian's coterie being attacked, Derek and his coterie set up a death trap in the first warehouse (hence the tunnel and actual meeting in the second one). The whole place was rigged to become an instant, thermite fueled inferno that would kill anyone in the warehouse when it was triggered. Of course, it was intended originally in the event the meeting was attacked by the Sabbat rather than used against another player, but here we are. And with his whole Clan now under a clearly expressed insult, his response would be swift and final - he'd blow the first warehouse when the offender was there. Justification? Someone willing to insult an entire clan while the city is under attack by the Sabbat is too great a disruption to be allowed to remain.
Of course, that plan was also pending the idea that everyone ELSE would be taking the cars back to safety (as they had been told to do earlier in the scene). With everyone having been nudged to join Eve, it would now result in an entire coterie (and thus all the other players in the scene) being incinerated in the trap. Since the game JUST got restarted, I don't want to be the cause of either killing 4 players (or seriously injuring them to the point of delaying story development for months while they heal). I also can't see Derek letting such insults slide in part or in whole either. With both the other players of his coterie having left long before this scene, it just doesn't make sense to ruin the game for 4 players on behalf of 1 with no other PC support. So probably the best end would be for he and his coterie to decide 'If the others want to insult us to such extremes, they can deal with things on their own' and just leave Toronto completely. Or, if the GM deems it, he can have them go ahead and blow the warehouse I suppose and end the game with a bang. :)
Personally, I just don't want to ruin the game for four players under these conditions. But I also can't see him sticking around and NOT blowing the offender of so many insults to hell and back - he's a Brujah after all; one that was insulted on multiple levels. It was fun while it lasted though! Hopefully the rest of the game continues well for everyone else!
So the Crucible will be leaving Toronto and letting everyone deal with matters in their own way, blacklisting the entire area through their respective Clans. Or, alternatively, blowing the warehouse anyway. Which route is picked I'll leave to the GM to decide. Good luck all!
