I must stress that it is more important to define a character concept than a character build.

That said, you still need to build characters. Only one to start with, and after that I'll work with you to create other character sheets as needed.

So, D&D 5e standard characters to start with. Begin at 3rd level, roll for abilities using 4d6 (drop lowest) rolled 7 times (drop lowest), arranged as desired. I generally will not allow re-rolls unless the results are totally unworkable. Use standard starting equipment. Advancement will be milestone based.

And be sure to give the character some unique personality... which won't necessarily be the same in other "lives", so feel free to try something fun out.
