Re: OOC
Hi gang!
So sorry to have not been able to follow through on this campaign.
I really appreciate everybody’s participation and creativity, I’m sorry that I ran out of steam.
I did want to give you guys a few of my notes on how the adventure was probably going to unfold in case you’re interested in that level of closure.
I was planning on a scouting/hunting mission to find the source of the evil that was plaguing the town of Indagos, which is actually a malevolent invisible allosaurus. The players would have opportunities to discover this, and hopefully (for me) the hunt would result in further loss of life and limb to the Crimson Avocets, between desertions and being eaten, and more hopefully the monster would be defeated, leading to celebration of the company.
The company leaves Indagos to complete the prince’s mission and his quest for glory.
So what I was trying to gradually reveal is that the prince was sent to kill these two giants, Mothdarsh and Dothmarsh. Characters might have opportunity to learn about these two brothers, but what they learn would not convinced the prince (it might convince Coroltha). The reveal is that, after a slog to the north (in which hopefully the company grows smaller), there is indeed a Mothdarsh and Dothmarsh, but they are not giants but dwarfs. These Mostali brothers live in the shadow of two large round hills that might look like giants from a distance, but the fact is, the prince has been duped, tricked by a political rival into leaving Pavis and, instead of returning in glory, he would return as a fool (of course no one knew it was a good thing for him to be out of the city with what was coming).
Returning in a dark mood to Indagos, the fickle townsfolk have removed the Lunar flags and instead are displaying some banner like a white bull…
The crashing noises to the south during your journey north were the crashing walls of Pavis as the Lunars in Pavis have been wiped out and are being hunted throughout Prax.
At this point the party would need to decide what kind of path they will take to get back to the security of Alda Chur, with different dangers along different paths, and a kind of “monster of the week” feel as our heroes try to escape, running into helpers or enemies or frenemies along the way—hopefully sort of like a 1960s-70s sci fi show.
And that’s as far as I had really thought through the campaign.
Again I apologize for running out of magic points for the campaign. I appreciate you all and hope you all have a wonderful and blessed new year!
