I see that people are adding in Bio's to their characters, which I guess my intro should actually go.  Can someone point me to a post that describes how to use the functionality of the message system?  I specifically want to know how people are including pics into their bios.

Thanks in advance!

The “Help” tab in the top right (in red on my interface) brings up a menu that gives you all of the code options for RPOL

The code for pictures is this:

< img src = “ HTML INFORMATION HERE ” / >

But I have to add spaces into this code so that it is even visible.

But the picture must be hosted somewhere. I use photobucket, but any site that allows you to host a photo will work.

Let me know if you have anymore questions, or if this is somehow unclear.

The way that the HTML info is inputted is kind of specific, sensitive and can be tricky, so referencing the help pop-up can be helpful

Hi Amilcar - I too found this to be a nightmare. Below is the link to my picture which I have added an @ symbol in. As you can see you need the format to be as shown below.

<img src@="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/be/21/cb/be21cbe94cf4863bf9a2160a896adcbb.jpg">

I suggest you try and post my image to me in a private message, then edit the message to the one you really want knowning that you have the format working. This is what I did.

It looks like you are using a jpg file.

The ones I use are specifically HTML

I also have to chop the [IMG] bits off the code, as well as start from the second go round of the http section

But yes getting the trick can be maddening.

But once you have the trick of it, it’s cut and paste

If you wish I am happy that "Aggabortas" and "Zyxx" were in the same unit, and were also military/temple drinking buddies. Happy to you to jest & joke that Zyxx is a death-walker as death is always near by for him. (Family death seemed to be common, and Zyxx has a high death rune too). I hope you take me up on this suggestion, as it will give a great roleplay foil for us both to work with.

Out of interest how did your background history rolls go?

I'm fine with that, but note that:

The Aggabortas:
- is from the Dalini regiment of Mirin's Cross, Holay (not that I'm tied to this specific background);
- is heavy infantry (not cavalry) using 1H spear and large round shield;
- is strong with the Death rune too  :P (Seven Mothers, Yanafal Tarnils).

Family background is that:
- grandparents came from Balazar (so family only assilimated into Lunar culture a generation prior) and one grandparent died (relatively young) fighting for the Queen of Holay;
- parent was hunter and lived relatively uneventful life in Mirin's Cross, dying of illness relatively young;
- The Aggabortas was nearly killed in the defeat at the Battle of Auroch Hills;
- Then he nearly died in a personal feud with someone in another regiment; and
- Then he nearly died in battle with rebels in Prax, giving him a distinctive scar over his eye (perhaps enhancing his high CHA).

So yes, young Death seems a thing in the family.

Re: OOC

I haven't written up a bio/description yet (it's late here, and I need to get lots done tomorrow), but The Aggabortas is a big, muscular man, but with a flashing smile, and some intelligence in his eyes.  He's not particularly agile, relying on brawn to win through.  Which suits fighting in largely plate armour in the heavy infantry.

In reply to The Aggabortas (msg # 47):

Hi, we need a plan-B, as this is my character summary:
Hometown =  Dunstopp
Unit = Crimson Sheilds (Unit name made up)
Weapon = Kopis & Shield
Backup weapon = Bow & fist

It looks like we both took a pounding in the war in 1625, gain similar scars too. My plan-B suggestion is that are unit we both hit badly and we met for the first time on a blood soaked hill. To them met again being care for in a field hospital

How does that sound?

So different units, but have happened to cross paths a couple of times?  Fine with me  :)

Of course, another option is that you're the one I have a personal feud with  :P

I considered the feud, but thought that would be a pain for all as the heroes would not work as well together.

I agree, prefer to not start out with a feud in the ranks and if known that might put you in separate units

I think your problem is that link is not to an image (just an image), it is to a google share page that includes an image in it.

Thank you, I see that the instructions say to put the quotes and I didn't do that.  I updated all 3 with the quotes and still nothing.

Can you try to see if you can reply with the URL and get it to work?  If not, I might try another hosting service to see if google might be causing an issue.

Re: OOC

I'm doubtful that any of those URLs are pointing directly to an image (though that may just be my lack of knowledge on Google and TinyURL. Can you right click on an image that you want and select a drop-down option "copy image address" ? You should then be able to paste a URl that ends with an image extension such as .png .jpg

Re: OOC

It appears that you actually have to jump through some hoops to get the raw image source for an html tag, e.g. this site talks about it https://www.labnol.org/interne...os-in-website/29194/

Other hosting services might be simpler
