Theresa is strong enough to carry her own gear, but not a lot more, thus the focus on small valuable loot.

Jen has 'Brute Strength' which I guess equates to 'Augmented Strength' (Same type as Juciers, Crazies, Borgs and light power armours) but it isn't high enough to actually have any additional effect that a normal person of similar strength would have.  Having said that she does wade in with a PS of 23, leopards get a +6 racial bonus to PS.

i can see a trend now, killian and haskins are good to form a team that stalks and kills anything, jennifer is about to become the voice of reason, theresa is shaping up to be the first honest thief in rifts, while william is in line to be the the silent scout guy. reminds me of Beowulf's crew from the movie the 13th warrior for some reason. That would make nutball that arab guy who rode the jumping dog.

oh, for gear, make some suggestions here and i will tell if something can be had and for how much.

Most of the stuff I'm talking about is in Rifts Northern Gun 2.

The NG Armored Clothing Lines (ie Fatigues, Helmets, Tank Coats, and Hard Case Packs) start on Page 39. The Ultra-300 is on page 41. The EB 20 Hunter Environmental Backpack is on pg 43.

Bushman Trooper EBA is on pg 55 right next to the old Bushman armor. It is essentially the same suit with 90 mdc instead of 55 mdc.

I am by no means trying to tell anyone what to pick just suggesting some things that I myself have used in games and that are generally upgrades to starting gear.

 There's a lot of very cool stuff from Northern Gun. I tend to see them as mid-range in power,  but high-reliability workaday toys for characters who, for whatever reason do not want/cannot get/cannot use the freakier alien nonsense.

 There is however, no guarantee that this stuff exists here - with the different timeline and all - although I doubt the GM'll re-write the whole book just for our benefit. ^_^

ok, so, i am bringing everyone together. not as a you have to work together thing. but it sort of how things worked out scene.

Jennifer, Hawkins, and William are leaving Joe Bob's place as Killian is coming in to check out the search for Hanson. Theresa will be arriving there at this time after she left the techno-wizard's shop. Nutball will have had a nap, woken up with the mask still watching tri-v and the ghost siblings urging him to go out and find the others so he will stop being so boring to around.

So, Hawkins, Jennifer, and William will be on the porch exiting the building as Killian is approaching the porch steps. Theresa will be just walking up into the parking lot from one side while Nutball is walking onto the lot from the opposite side.

Any quick plans are  welcome to be made. The gear from Joe Bob's shop will be ready in an hour or so.

you see, that is exactly why Nutball would keep his common sense in a metal tube in his pocket. there is no telling just what might happen to it if he left his common sense exposed to MOM implants.

  I apologize if it seems my posts are overly large, rambling, or long-winded.  If anyone has any issue with it, please feel free to direct message me about it, & I'll make efforts to keep it shorter.  So far, I have been just getting into character as best I can, and let it just roll out.  Considering I based this character heavily on another fictional character from a movie, who had a tendency to ramble, it just seems more natural to me.  Like I said, though, if it is a problem or frustration, please let me know.

not at all. you brought all the valid points of the discussions that hawkins and i have had behind the scenes on tracking down materials and prices. the cost to fully replace everything Hawkins used in the fights would be about a third of the money generated from the deal struck in the hunters' camp. as such, he is still without much of what would be needed to replace much of what he used. the idea to buy extra suits to keep on hand was deemed more useful to the group than to fully replace the cyborg armor he lost in a custom shop due to the overriding expense.

i get it that killian is chafing at the collar for feeling like he is in a collar again, but unless he simply skipped the post where you guys decided to rebuild the groups' offensive and defensive capabilities up front, I was just assuming he was posting IC about how his character feels about the group buy situation.

as far as theresa goes, i'm not sure if Theresa is planning on going solo or that the player feels is what would be appropriate for the character. it's been amusing but not very enlightening since the posts do not reveal anything about the character's plans or intentions.

if any of you simply want to go your own way or split into smaller groups i am fine with that. the rpol format makes rpg settings more sandbox than at the table.
