Re: Seeing the sights in Huntsville

Having been mostly invested in reading the map and comparing its information to what they were driving by it isn't even clear if Theresa noticed the change of destination, let alone the conversation until she steps out of the hole in the side of the vehicle and asks of their new host as she drifts nearly to the ground.
”Do you have any recommendations for Techno Wizard repair and resale shops that will react favorably to knowing you sent us their way?”

Re: Seeing the sights in Huntsville

"There is an upcharge of 25 dollars or 10 credits per night for you pet to join you. This will cover food for the dog. Is kibble and diced dino meat acceptable." She said with one of those accents that just couln't be placed. "I am assuming your lineage to be that, like the Dog Boy's to be of Lone Star's breeding programs. I have keen insight into auras. But, despite their efforts you are quite pleasing to look upon. There is a large amount of naturally process dino meat in the common meals, I will request more meat, less vegetables, and some fruits for you. No upcharge. I can recommend the shop of Darwin Fixyostuff. He is an unusual dimensional being like you and myself and is a very knowledgeable practitioner of magic. I will receive a small kickback, still his work is highly recommended."

Princess seemed to recognize at least one word the lady said, as her ears perked up & her tail wagged happily at the mention of dino meat.  "That sounds fine to me, and Princess sure won't complain neither."  Douglas answered with his usual smile.

"Good, if one of you will fill out the form for the rooms for your company. I will also make arrangements for the funds transfer. All charges are tabulated daily and charged at the end of each business day at noon." The woman sounded like a recording of herself suddenly. "Any further requests or concerns?"

Re: Seeing the sights in Huntsville

Theresa offers a nod in thanks, but doesn't otherwise take much of their new host's time.
”Thank you that should do quite nicely, a little bit of kickback is expected, in exchange for the value of a good recommendation and the accountability that entails.”
Sticking to her rather single minded focus Theresa heads off to follow the map's directions to find the indicated shop and its hopefully helpful proprietor, carrying all the various techno-wizard items she has collected since their first encounter with the lightning guns.

Douglas takes a look at the form, making sure it is in a language he is familiar with. When no one else volunteers right away, he steps up, pulling a simple click pen out of a pouch pocket.  "Shucks, I know it ain't the best, but Ma made sure I had decent penmanship."  He starts filling out the form, taking his best guess for proper spelling of names.

(OOC:  all assuming it is written in American, & nobody else wants to fill it out)

(OOC: yes, it is written in English and simply says that I (state your name) and my companions (list their names) working for (fill in company, if any) take on full responsibility for payment of all debts accrued during our stay at Hotel 9. Jen's friendly smile vanishes replaced by and angry glower.

Yeah, your best to sign for it.  Make sure though that you don't commit to a tip.  Spitting bare faced insults at guests doesn't deserve to be rewarded.  A tilt to her head for a moment as she turns from the door of the mountaineer to move further inside, Random insults like that are liable to get your arms ripped off by people less friendly and composed than I am.

Seething she moves into the back of the vehicle to fiddle with her pack.

If Jennifer's remarks made eyebrows raise it went unnoticed by her. However, she did their hostess slightly tense up and wince at her words.

"No offense was meant. I often lack the tack of the natives of this land. My apologies." She replied to Jennifer.

"Well, I guess I'll go and price up what I need to re-arm and re-equip... Unless someone needs the company, I'll be back in a couple of hours." Killian states, unslinging his pack and going through it once more just to make sure that he has the parts he needs repaired - not that he has anywhere else to put them - simply by sheer in-trained reflex.

With that, unless someone says something to the contrary, he heads out with an aim to start at Huntsville Munitions to see what the cost is for recharging an E-clip.

Picking up her back Jen looks back to Hawkins.

Yeah, I'm going to my room to get a good shower, get rid of the foulness in the air as much as possible. A distasteful glare at the receptionist, Then I'll certainly go with you to see about getting the ATV sorted.  Once that is done an armourer is on the list.

"No offense was meant. I often lack the tack of the natives of this land. My apologies." She replied to Jennifer.

His signature smile disappeared entirely, replaced by a very serious expression.  "Pa used ta say 'It's unwise to make assumptions.  It tends to make an ass outa you and me'.  Hell, I don't think she's even been ta Texas, much less any CS Lab.  Either way, best ta leave her alone on that topic."

Hawkins:
"Anyone else coming? To the Garage I mean."</b></DarkGreen>

As he turned back to his teammates, his smile returned, as genuine as ever.  "Sure!  I wouldn't mind coming along.  It'd likely be a good idea to know the ins and outs of this here facility, not to mention where our transportation is."

Killian:
"... Unless someone needs the company, I'll be back in a couple of hours."

Douglas gives Killian a friendly wave of invitation as he speaks, "Why doncha' accompany us?  Not to the showers, of course.  A feller should have his privacy, after all.  It seems to me, though, that most of us are all headin' in the same direction.  Additionally, it might be a good idea for you to keep with company that is obviously NOT of a Coalition nature.  No offense intended, of course.  Wadda say?"

"Group showers don't bother me, I served in barracks. Half of the Chi-town garrison's seen my ass at some point. It's okay though, I'm just going to go price up recharging clips and getting armour fixed, then I'll bring the information back." Killian answers amenably, enough, giving Hawkins a chance to voice his ability to do so gratis and for nothing should he choose to do so.

"I shouldn't be more than an hour and I'll check in with you then." he finishes up, before giving Douglas a nod and heading for the showers.

Re: Seeing the sights in Huntsville

Douglas started by heading to his room with his gear, most of it weapons.  He was glad he had taken the time earlier to clean & check them all thoroughly.  Next was a well deserved shower for himself & Princess.  His favorite pair of blue jeans, plaid shirt, & hat was about the only civilian attire he had, which suited him fine.  A few choice 'small' weapons strapped on him, & he was ready for a 'town outing'.  With Princess wagging her tail at his side, happy to be clean & unarmored again, he headed out.  He underestimated the extra time it took to wash himself & such a large dog, though, and by the time he was done, the rest had gone their different directions.  After a quick query with the guards, he was headed towards the garage to catch up.  Once he realized they had moved on from their first stop, he decided to use the radio to track them down.

Re: Seeing the sights in Huntsville

Nutball collects his stuff and exits the Mountaineer to collect his room key before it is driven off for repairs.  He asks about room service or local eateries that deliver, then heads for his room.
Once there, he drops off his weapons and pack.  He uses the phone to order a couple of meals before he does anything else.  Making sure everything is secure, he takes a trip to toilet and shower.  When he hits the shower, he stands under the spray of water in his full armor, letting the got water wash away the swamp.
Once his armor is clean, he pries himself out of it.  Soon, he stands completely naked, the burn scars covering almost all of his body and face revealed in all their glory.  Soon, he is cleaned and refreshed, and ready for food and a nap.
When the food arrives at his door, he is still garbed only in a towel.  Throwing on a plain, white bathrobe and his mask, he answers the door.  Thanking the deliverer, after having made sure the payment includes a decent tip, he sits down to eat and watch whatever he can find on the video set, finally able to spend some time with his mask off.  It feels like it has been weeks.  Afterwards, he lays back on the bed to tale a nap.

Re: Seeing the sights in Huntsville

Nutball was just stretching out from his nap. His back still hurt a little from the fight. Well, fights. Checking to see if the others had left yet he opened his door and stood there in his bathrobe, slippers, and mask. His friends stepped past him and laughed, teasing him about being overdressed in the robe.

The Mountaineer was gone, of course. The people staying the Hotel 9 shot looks in his direction but no one was willing to do anything more. Without the helmet the subtle tell-tales of his MOM implants were obvious to observation this close. And no one would dare brook discord with a crazy man. Well, unless he was crazy, too.

A pair of women walked by. Both wore the typical robes of mystics. Which made Nutball wonder; why did they dress like that anyway? Nevermind, the one on the left was cute. And she had a really awesome body. And, wait, what did she say?

"Seriously, I don't know why we are tracking all of these people anyway." The attractive gal was saying. "There is no way we can catch all of them. Besides, with bounties this high why go to the risk of trying to catch them all. The damned list is over a hundred names in this region alone. Most of them are worth twenty five thousand at a minimum."

They moved on past Nutball as they talked and he got a good looked at the attractive girl's behind. He lost track of the conversation at that point.

Seeing the sights in Huntsville

The view almost completely distracts Nutball from the conversation.  The eyes of the comedy face of his mask seem to be huge, while a tongue appears to be hanging out of its mouth.  But, then it changes, becoming more thoughtful as the words of their conversation catch up to him.
More than a hundred bounties in the area.  Most of them over twenty five thousand.
He goes back into his room to place his drying helmet over his head.  Powering up the radio, he calls out to the others over it.  ~Hey, guys.  Come see me when you get back.  I may have a line on some work.  Some very lucrative work, from the sound if it.~

Seeing the sights in Huntsville

Something out of the corner of his eye caught Nutball's attention. He looked at the mask, it seemed normal. Turning his face back towards the latest episode of a show called Juice of Die it happened again. His face shot around, but the mask just lay there like normal. Watching the tri-v again Nutball laughed at the commentator's description of what makes a fighter tough. Then, looking out of the corner of his eye, there it was. The mask smiled deviously and winked him.

Nutball looks at the mask a moment, then shakes his head slowly.  I'm taking a nap until the others get back.  If you want to watch TV, I'll prop you up and turn it on, but I am NOT flipping through the channels for you again.  For once, you will just have to watch whatever is for however long it is on.
With that said, he props the mask up on his helmet on the nightstand next to the bed.  He then turns the TV with the remote, finding what appears to be a pre-Rifts porno, and turns down the volume to 1.  There.  Enjoy.
He then rolls over, facing away from the mask, and closes his eyes to sleep.

Nutball, hearing the call over the radio in his helmet, sits up with a sigh.  Leaning over, he pulls the mask from the helmet only to prop it up on a pillow situated so it could see the TV.
With a yawn, he puts the helmet on his head and responds to the question.
~Have you found any of those armored jumpsuits?  I would like one to wear under clothing.  Another suit of Gladiator would be cool.  Especially if it looks like my current.  Have you found any pistol and rifle grenades?  Or Wellington firearms?~

He yawns as he takes off the helmet and places it back on the nightstand.  He then lays back down to go to sleep.
