razorbackyak and I decided this will be an "any" not "each" caste game. So you can be whatever caste (not Adamant though) you want. Doubling up is not a problem, especially as Alchemicals are inherently modular. Quite literally :). You can form up a "one of each caste", but that's optional.


Build rules:

Pretty straight forward; straight from the Alchemicals book using Scroll of Errata for points like willpower, intimacies and specialties.

I'm also going to add pick of four dots of background per character that I think best support the group and the character in that dynamic. Those background points may raise single background you already have, or be invested into a new background, or invested into a group asset that may be known to players, but won't be known to characters for a time; like a manse assigned to be with very easy priority for a vat or just new Creation base.

Finally, I'll have a "Bounty" board that will earn you XP even if you complete those tasks prior to game start. I try to keep them...low. As in less than what they're probably "worth" but this is really so no one feels they have to do these, even if I say they don't. People trust results. It'll be something, and everyone will get posting XP. 1 per post. In or out of character. If you milk it, I should be able to recagonize that; and honestly, I trust those players from their reputation that won't happen. I want, REALLY want to encourage activity.

To clarify, you start with 5 willpower. You may spend 1 BP per willpower you want higher than 5, up to 10. Willpower is not figured by virtues. As such, virtues cannot start higher than 4 unless you spend BP. Then they can be raised to 5.

You also start with intimacies equal to your Willpower+Compassion. I, however, homerule you may start with as little as Compassion. Especially since clarity often erodes what would be intimacies. This is, of course, an enlightened path in Autochthon, but will lead to some snags once in Creation, and trying to form society.

Now, onto thew question most recently asked (as of this post).

You get 18 BP, not 15.

You also get 4 dots of Specialties in abilities.



Last but not least, remember you can't raise abilities above 3 without spending bonus points. That's 2 BP per dot, since Champions have no favored abilities. Only Solaroids (as I call them) get this "up to 5" rule. As do they get the other rules without the asterisk.

XP starts unspent. I said this in another post, but I'll put it here. I'm going to get a milestone XP thread to award "drip" XP as milestones rather than drop by drop, post for post.
