Sakamoto moves quickly to engage the skeleton that was just charged by Khorth. Taking advantage of the distraction his ally's attack caused, he dashes into and advantageous position and lands accurate blows to the target.

Akyra, axe and shield already in hand, saw the brief movement of the skeletons, and snarled, moving forward and in the room mere steps behind the lizardman. Seeing him take the skeleton in the door, she decided to check in the halfling as he moved in, her gaze was behind him to the others.

She saw the other two and swung her axe at the skeleton closer to her and swung her axe.

BonThot continues to linger behind.

ooc: sorry for my absences. I'll try to do better moving forward.

Pavel was the first to act, firing an arrow over Khorth's shoulder, which sank into the skull of the skeleton on the opposite wall. (8 damage to Skeleton 1)

Ariadne loaded her sling and flung a stone at the first skeleton. The stone hit with a brutal impact beyond what she thought it would have done. (Vulnerable to bludgeoning, 6 damage, Skeleton 1 is dead)

Sakamoto took on one of the skeletons, blade scraping against bone for one strike, then shattering bones with a sweeping kick, sending the bones clattering to the floor. (18 total damage for vulnerabilities, Skeleton 2 is dead)

Khorth ran ahead and and tried to position himself to strike at the undead in front... only to see it destroyed by Ariadne's sling bullet. The lizardman pivoted and, pushing off of the false column to redirect his momentum toward the other skeletons.

Akyra closed with Khorth's new target, sinking the magical axe blades into bone, cleaving through multiple ribs as it did so.

Skeleton 1 is dead.
Skeleton 2 is dead.
Skeleton 3 retaliated against Akyra, barely skirting around the dragonborn woman's defenses. (Akyra takes 4 slashing damage)
23:26, Today: Psynister rolled 18,4 using d20+4,d6+2.  Skeleton Attack.

BonThot moved to the door and assaulted the skeleton's mind with his psionic magics. The spell seemed to take hold, though it was hard to tell from this angle. (2 damage to Skeleton 3, and -d4 on its next save)

Dismayed to see his target crumble before he could strike, the scaly fighter set his cold eye on the last skeleton and struck true, shattering bones.

Today: Khorth rolled 19,9 using 1d20+6,1d8+6 with rolls of 13,3.  Khorth attack + damage.

"Glad to have helped in this skirmish. More of that, please..."

Akyra, seeing Khorth hit the skeleton, was ready with her axe, should he have missed.

Khorth does indeed lay the final skeleton to and easy rest. The snapping and clattering of bones has caused more noise now than you had prior to this point. No sounds of alarm had been raised, so perhaps it was safe?

Two new doors are available in this room. North wall, and East wall.
There was also the other door in the previous room, on the West wall.

BonThot takes a look toward the west wall, but stands with his companions.

The dragonborn smiles at Khoth and nods....his skills were a boon to the group more than ever now. She pointed to khoth and the north door, while she checked the east

Ariadne entered the room,  ready to assist should either Traveling Companion need assistance

The lizard-folk licked his lips and nodded back to Darkscales, before moving to the north side door, listening. No hearing anything, he opened the door, shield in front of him.

Today: Khorth rolled 7 using 1d20+2.  khorth perception.

Pavel seems perturbed.

"This seems easy almost too easy."

Akyra grimaces at the hunters words  "Normally I'd disagree,  but your right. where are the rats hiding?"

As people moved about to have a look around, some commenting on the easiness of the fight, Khorth lays ear to a door where he detects no sounds beyond.

Ariadne makes a sound, as if surprised by something.

Heads turn to see what had caught the druid's attention. Khorth, Akyra, BonThot, and Sakamoto all start to fill a tightness in their chests, then a burning sensation in their nose and throat. It seemed the druid was seeing something in the room that the rest of you were not. Everyone except for Pavel and Ariadne, make a Constitution saving throw.

The druid gasped
"Everyone out of the room!  There's a....mist...of some sort, rising from the skeletons!"
Part of her wanted to kick herself,  for not realizing that there had been a reason why this battle had been so relatively easy.

Akyra looked around and felt a tightness in her throat and chest. Being a dragonborn born from a black, a dragon of poison, she cursed as the druid warned them. Grabbing Thoth she dragged him out the door,m clamping her mouth shut and holding her breath, seething anger in her eyes.

Khorth smelled the acrid odor and bursted through the north door to escape it, coughing.

Hopefully, he was not going from the frying pan to the fire!

As Ariadne warned the others of what she saw, and they began to feel the effects despite not seeing it, pain radiated in the bodies of Akyra, BonThot, Khorth, and Sakamoto. It was a pain unlike any they had felt before, but not so much in its intensity, but rather that it left them feeling hollowed out inside. Somewhere between heart and soul, a void had been created and pain rushed in like a sinkhole. It was almost like the pain of suddenly losing the person or thing that mattered most to you. It was a pain of heartbreak and anger, and a complete inability to do a damn thing about any of it.

Akyra, Khorth, Sakamoto - you each take 11 Necrotic damage
BonThot, with a failed saving throw, you take 22 Necrotic damage

Akyra grabbed BonThot to pull him toward the opening as he seemed absorbed in the pain, and it was good that she did, for BonThot unleashed an agonizing wail of painful loss, vessels in his eyes burst, and trails of blood flowed down his cheeks as he felt unconscious. As Akyra drug BonThot out of the room, he coughed once and blood now flowed out of his mouth as well.

BonThot is at 0 HP, unconscious, and dying, with 1 failed Death Saving Throw. Everyone is out of the room, back in the hallway.

As Ariadne made room for the others to retreat, she watched the mist. It moved as air currents shifted, but it did not seem to be spreading this direction. Not yet, at least.

Akyra, in the room felt the pain of whatever had happened, and in her mind she saw what she dreaded. She saw herself, devoid of her faith, her compassion - like her family was. She gritted her teeth against the vision, and felt the pan, but she embraced it, let it fuel her. She grabbed the magic user as she dragged him and herself out of the room.

She noticed the scream and blood of bonthot, and knelt down in the new room, immediately going to channel her healing magic. For a moment she hesitated, thinking the vision was true, that bahamut had left her, but she felt the warm surge, and the presence of her god.

Dropping her axe to the ground, she felt the warmth of the healing, as difficult as it always was, and placed a hand on bonthot. The warmth stabilised the magic user

She grimaced as the healing wasn’t as potent as usual, and grabbed her axe. “What in the nine hells was that!”

Akyra's healing magic seemed to be sucked into BonThot's chest as though there was a vaccuum. The blood running down the sorcerer's face dried where it was and began to flake off as he came to.

Since Akyra's healing seemed to work to bring the sorcerer back to the land of the living,  Ariadne held off casting another healing spell.  Instead, she tried to quickly examine the fallen man,  to make sure he was out of immediate danger
