Character Submission Guidelines

If you would like to submit characters for the game, read this section.

As noted in the game intro, this is a BTVS Unisystem game, so to play you will need the BTVS RPG corebook published by Eden so you can create your characters.

If you don't have the book, here's a link to download it as a pdf:

You may submit up to three characters.  You don't have to submit three, but you must submit a minimum of two characters. The more you submit, the better your odds of getting in.    You don't have to submit them all at once, just keep adding them to the same RTJ thread rather than start a new one each time.

This is a BTVS high school game. All new submissions must be teenagers. Specifically, the cast will be in their sophomore year and it's halfway through the school year.  So your character should  be 15 years old, possibly turning 16 in a couple of months. And don't forget the 2 point teenager drawback when creating your characters.

All the characters are White Hats, so if you don't like playing White Hats, you can stop reading here.

Please submit character stats along with a brief description of your characters' history and personality. Repeat: Need to see character stats, until then you don't have a complete submission.

Here are the guidelines:

1) Read the other rules and follow them.  Characters that do not follow these guidelines will be automatically rejected.

2)Characters will use the White Hat template since it's an all White Hat game.   White Hats get an extra 5 points to Qualities (So their starting number point value is 15 rather than 10 as listed in the book).

3)AGAIN, characters must be teenagers age 15 possibly turning 16 soon.  Don't forget the Teenager drawback.

4)Most things from the Buffy Corebook, Slayer's Handbook, and Magic Box are fair game except for these things:
*No Slayers, vampires, or totem warriors.
(A Slayer in training White Hat character would be acceptable though)
*No witches or warlocks (meaning no characters with sorcery, you can submit a character who knows how to cast spells though).
*Werewolves are allowed but must be the 3 point drawback type.
*No Telepathy, Empathy, The Sight, Telekinesis, or Situational Awareness.

5)If you want your character to have a package quality, you are limited to one.

6)No characters that are too powerful or too perfect.   I know, that's a broad description. If I listed all the examples, it would take another page. For now, I'll just say don't submit a Jack of all Trades/Mary Sue type that can do anything. But I reserve the right to reject a character for other reasons I may consider them them too powerful or too perfect.

7)All of the six character attributes must have a minimum starting level of 2.

8)The Archtype premade characters in each of the books can be submitted as long as they are White Hats and meet the above rules.  You don't necessarily have to create all your characters from ground zero.   Depending on which Archtype you want to use, they could be fine as is, need some minor adjustments, or be totally unsuitable.

Any questions, just ask.
