Standard OCC Thread

We have two player characters so far.

Billy Thomson and Liam Roeker.

Just bumped my ad, need to get a Slayer and some more female characters.

We have a Slayer!

Esperanza Glass.

Good evening all, I am Esperanza Glass, known as Hopie and I am your Slayer.
Buenas noches todos, soy Ezperanza Glass, conocida como Hopie y soy su Slayer.

Welcome!  Although now I wish I had taken Spanish for Liam.

Is okay guapo, I speak Americano as well.

We have three player characters.

If you click the The Cast list, you'll see two characters in the NPC section which will be played by me.  Brittany Foster and Edward Hudson.

With three player characters and two NPCs, I think we have enough characters to get the game going soon.

*Edward Hudson is the Watcher.  Like Giles, he's the librarian of the school.  He's just started at Sunnydale High at the start of the 2006-2007 school year.  Remember the game will start in January 2007, halfway through the school year as the students return after new year.  As the game begins, he has yet to identify the new Slayer, that will come soon.

The three of you should at least be vaguely familiar with him, maybe more so if you spend a lot of time in the library.

*Brittany Foster is going to be the Cordelia of the group but less abrasive.  She's also a brand new student, the first day of the game will be her first day of school.  So of course none of you will know her.  She doesn't know anyone and has no social standing or position at all at Sunnydale High.

Esperanza, Billy, and Liam all have a class together: 6th period gym class (last class of the day)so you will all know each other from that class.

Oh my... Cordelia with no social standing... she'll be like the sweet and brave Cordelia from Angel.

Ah gym, the favorite class of every nerd.

Ah Rico, at least you don't have anybody checking your ass as Ms Kaplinski makes us climb the ropes.

Oh, it’s a boys/girls joint class?  Maybe there are some benefits.  At least until dodgeball.

*rolls her eyes and wonders if her aim got better over Xmas.

I was thinking we could start the game with Esperanza as a normal girl and then her Slayer powers would manifest right before our first major fight scene.


Does Esperanza have any idea what a Slayer is or that vampires are real? Or she blissfully unaware of it all?

Not vampires as such but...



She believes in La Llorona, the hungry woman, who weeps for the children she drowned.

I know very little of Mexican culture.  I’m already loving learning about the tidbits Esperanza is dropping.  Keep it up!

Yeah... everything I know about Mexican culture I learned from Jaime (and 'Beto) Hernandez.  I even stole Esperanza's name (but not her character) from Love and Rockets.  In the Comic, Hopey is half Scottish and Half Columbian and was born just outside Los Angeles.

We should be ready to get started soon.

Remember the game takes place in 2007, so keep that in mind for your real world and pop culture references.

*George W. Bush is the president.

*If your character has a cell phone, it will be a flip phone.

*If your character likes super hero movies, you can't talk about the Marvel Cinematic Universe because it doesn't exist yet.  Iron Man 1 is still more than a year away from relase.
