Ah, he is?

Personally I figured I'd take Exemplar for a spin this time as Counterforce already had her scenes and I sort of struggle to see her coming along for this. She probably stayed behind to tinker on her device. Although... I wonder if it would work for her to inexplicably show up in the restaurant as well, despite not wanting to go out?

Octopus is in the group, since I like him a lot and want an excuse to be able to voice him if I think he'd be particularly suited to something, or if we end up splitting into our appropriate teams and don't want to contrive a way for someone to just appear. Though since it's established that our school is absolutely loaded with various forms of teleportation, that doesn't seem like a real problem after all.

If this helps, don't worry about teams so much.  Just do what you believe your character would do.  Maybe your character would try and stick with their assigned team.  After all, they have trained together.  Or you are out with friends from another team and they are what is available to handle the strange situation now.  To be honest, this game is losing players rather than keeping or gaining them and a player might find themselves the only functioning member of their isolated team.  Let's see who stays and how they might combine.

The strange segue between the Study Hall and Hijinks might be better understood like this;  you probably would have gone to Hijinks anyway, it is the most happening thing in this podunk town tonight (not saying a lot really).  Perhaps all you needed was a suggestion and not much of one (even if that suggestion did not arrive through normal means).  It also helped to get y'all off of campus where you are more vulnerable (and you can save yourselves rather than be rescued by NPCs).

In short, your characters are being mentally influenced.  Now, mind control can be a miserable thing to roleplay.  You've lost full control of your characters and I am trying to be sensitive about this.  Rest assured that any control that requires trickery and misdirection can't be that strong and you can probably triumph over it.  Some clues as to how should arrive in the next few posts and you have unrevealed advantages you don't even know. :-)

Could a character have ended up there without being part of the scene by the TV/wanting to go out for those hijinks in the first place? I mean, would that fit in with how whatever happened works?

In reply to The Watcher (msg # 432):

I think the biggest issue regarding the worrying about teams is, as Max said, at least some players are waiting for us to get into our smaller team threads so they don't feel overwhelmed in a big group. Having so many threads with everyone in them seems to have been why a few players have disappeared and teams have apparently shrunk. Continuing to make players feel uncomfortable by keeping them in that position is probably not the best way to keep from losing players.

So I'm just worried about teams because I'm worried about losing more people.

Oh, right! She-Hulk, is there a way for us to tell when Jennifer's hulked out or not? I was confused during the common room scene, and I assume she's in Jennifer mode at the restaurant.

What I have been trying to do is keep the terms separate to each identity.
So if I write that Jennifer performed an action, she would be in her normal form.
Likewise, if I write that She-Hulk performed an action, she is in the She-Hulk form.
So I'm not referring to her as Jennifer if she is in her She-Hulk form.

At the start of the restaurant scene, she's in her normal Jennifer appearance just like she was back in the school lounge.

My apologies.  I will notice when Jen is Jen and She-Hulk is She-Hulk from now on.  Forget what I posted about the image inducer if you want.  It is not needed when Jen is Jen. :-)

I just mean that a lot of people haven't been logging on, let alone posting. Here are a couple lists.

People who haven't logged in in over two weeks:
The In-Betweener, Arc, Citizen V, Gateway, Leviathan, Max, Skorpio.

People who have logged in within two weeks:
Meta, The Watcher, Counterforce/Exemplar, Jubilee, Mania/Ricochet/Octopus, Resonance, She-Hulk, Steel Ninja, Stone Cold.

I'm not counting Midnight/Mila because they explicitly left the game.

So it looks like we're down to about seven players. Two of whom make up five of the game's characters.

Changing Masks from Creamy to Chunky

My apologies for the extra long delay since my last post.  My sister has moved from sunny Texas to her true love's house in charming Virginia where (unless movies have lied to me) they are sippin' mint juleps on the verandah underneath the magnolia blossoms. ;-)

Yes, the game has less active players than it once did.  I made some terrible miscalculations setting this game up and it has cost us players.  For that, I am sorry. But it is done.  Steering a game is like steering a barge at times, it takes time to change course even if you realize you are on the wrong heading early on.

In any case, I intend to keep this game going as long as I have two interested players (one player and a GM is just an animated conversation IMO). :-)  Still, I believe this game is finally finding its strengths and overcoming its flaws.  Perhaps some of our students on 'sabbatical' might return on a whim and find the game more to their liking.  Or we might get some completely new faces. :-)

Sorry for being so quiet.  I just haven't been able to find the time to be on RPOL at all, for any of my games :(  I hope things will get better soon.  Its not that I don't want to play, believe me.
