Hello all, and Happy Independence Day for those in the US (and Happy 'Good Riddance' Day to those in the UK).  I will now try to catch up to all that I have missed. :-)

Quick note on communicators, the standard communicators for the students (which include the now revealed Babelfishes but is not limited to them) will always be inferior to the tech unique to the tech-oriented playbooks.  That is, the day will be saved by a Brain's gizmo or an Outsiders' Kirby-tech rather than a mundane communicator (which just gets you into trouble ;-) ).

In other words, you will save the day (not the school's gear)! :-)

One suggestion: you could just have them be translators rather than communicators. After all, they're babel fish. That's kind of literally their job.


Long as the gadgets we get aren't replicas of stuff we already have, it should all be fine.

Today I learned that the heads of Marvel don't use and also don't like the Marvel Earth number designations. I'm gonna make a note not to let them find out I've been using them.

Interesting Ricochet, I think they are a brilliant way to suggest the vastness of alternate realities.  So much so they cannot all be named.   Oh well, it should have no bearing on us here :-)

Strange, I could've sworn I saw the designations used in comics. Though I have seen much more of them in the wiki...

Starting to get ideas for further characters again, but I'll probably hold off on them for now. There are enough cats to herd at the moment.

I'm sorry I have been so absent lately.  I should be more present from now on, my schedule has changed and I have fixed a stubborn laptop.  I hope to be able to essentially be able to now devote a dedicated hour a day to the game.

I have added to IC Thread #3 and I think you will like it.  I should be able to start catching up tomorrow. :-)

They show up all the time in a lot of books that aren't in the main timeline.

Would trying to stop the Phalanx with a force field at our current distance be Unleashing My Powers? Or just impossible?

Also, would my Energy mastery in Scientific insight apply if I were to Assess the Situation? Seeing as Jubilee's powers - and how the Phalanx react to them - might be the key to the whole thing.

Argh!  I'm sorry I have been away so long especially as I last said I should have some more free time.  Real-life just got busy.  Rather than make more promises of free time, I will TRY and post somewhere between tonight and Tuesday.  If I can, it should be a fair amount. :-)

Meanwhile, I have decided to start another Masks game, one set in an original universe of my own devising. With our GM's gracious permission, I would like to invite any of you who might be interested in such a thing to apply to it here: link to another game Bear in mind that I am only looking for a 4-6 member team at first, so while I plan to let everyone who is interested join in the discussion and make characters, I will only select a few people for the initial roster. However, I may well require replacements later or even decide to form another team, so there will be other opportunities to join too.

I'd love to join your game, CF, especially after seeing the Game Info. You've got a rich and interesting world going. This time I think I'm gonna stand aside, though. My friends have been telling me I need to pump the brakes on adding more games to my plate. That's not to say I'll stay away forever. It's possible I'll send an application along at some point, when my excitement exceeds my self control. :P

I'm definitely still excited for this game as well.

And I know that feeling well, Ricochet. With any luck, there should be plenty of opportunities to join in the future.
