"Um...if we tell people, don't we risk losing the mine, or someone trying to rob us?" he shrugs, "I mean, how many of us can actually fight?"

"I think we're going to  have some interesting philosophical conversations, Menden." Alarven grins, shrugging slightly. "Consider, that our own will gave them the power to affect things. But that's a conversation for another time, another place."

"If the we think that remaining silent for now is best, then I won't bring this up to father."

"I definitely think it'd be better to keep this expedition quiet, at least until we've returned."

During a lull in the conversation, Neldi takes the opportunity to turn the conversation back to supplies and provisioning.  "I think I've done well with purchases for our expedition, but I will readily admit I do not frequently leave the town. As such, I'd like to run what I've purchased past the four of you to see if you think there are any gaps I can still fill."  He proceeds to list off the purchases he's made.

“I don’t know how much it will come up, but I will probably need some writing implements, paper, ink...”  He shrugs,  “We might be able to scavenge a bit from the old mine if it was abandoned, more torches or a lantern and the like.”

"Don't worry about that, Menden," Neldi says with a smile. "I have a writing kit that you can use."

He nods, “That will do then.  I can’t think of anything else I might need though I’ve never been in a mine before so...  He shrugs.

"I've never been outside of Asylum before, so I don't know what advice I can offer there. I have my gem cutting tools, so I'll be able to evaluate the gems a bit easier." he stops as if the talking had interrupted his train of thought, he's staring at the rug. A moment later he tightens his lips and gives a quick nod with determination and sits back into the chair as if a very important decision had been made.

"Telorn, is there aught you need, personally, for the trip?"

Alarven looks to the ravaged scraps of cheese and crumbs, to the empty dewar, and turns to their host. "Neldi, thank you for the offer of doing business. I am looking forward to the excitement of hidden treasures, if the mineshaft is in the workable condition my brother believes. I have a bit of work to do tonight... to get a few things ready for the trip. Telorn, would you please meet me at my home tomorrow morning around dawn, to give us time to meet the others on time after?"

I am fine with us setting the next scene. Can we assume that Alarven and Telorn handle the new clothes off camera before we regroup?

"Hmm? Oh, no, I think I have everything. Wouldn't really know what else to ask for. I'll make sure my tools don't get stolen tonight." he looks over to Alarven, "Yeah, I can do that."

Takes last sip of wine "well I think that does it for me see y'all in morning" leaves and returns home.

Alarven stretches inconspicuously, and hits the old unseasonably dry, dusty trail.

is 19 a lot? that depends. Copper pennies? no. Bugbears, yes.

Alarven glances over Mendens shoulder, unfamiliar with the scale, but likely quite confused as to whose perspective the map was intended for. "What use is a drawing from the eyes of birds and giants, Menden? This would be like me cutting a dress after only seeing a pattern of someone laying down..."

Menden seems frustrated with Alarven’s input, but responds kindly, “Maps aren’t much use if you live in a town, but in the woods I can see their import.  Over here is the town, and here the river and there is where we are going...  Sadly there is no dot for where we are.  So, until we find a landmark from the map we won’t know exactly where we are.  One of the hunters would probably have a trick, but I spent most of my life in a pub.”
