A new day at school was going to begin, and young girls gathered at the school gates...

Huyen yawned as she headed onto school grounds. It felt like it was going to be a looooong day.

Jenny wandered onto campus.  She radiated attitude, trouble, toughness... this was probably going to hold up until her bandmates showed up, but she wasn't going to admit to that.

"THERE you are!" came a voice from behind Huyen, along with a pair of hands over her eyes.

"Guess who?"

"Hey there!" Hanako shouter, waving as she hurried up beside you.

"I wonder if it's Diwa?" Huyen said.

"Well, hey, cutie!" said Jenny.  It was a habit by now, flirting with the other two-- one Dixiecup shamelessly encouraged.  "Fan Service," she called it.

"Well, I wouldn't bother," said another voice.  "Which narrows it down."

Hanako blushed a bit.

"So, um, how are you doing?"

Huyen turned around.

This put Diwa's arms around her; Susan looked on and chuckled at the sight.

"So, how's it going?"

"Okay, I guess," said Jenny.  "Getting used to all this again."

"I guess it can be a bit weird," Hanako said. "We do have a concert coming up quickly though. You seem fine while playing."

"I was better about a minute ago," Huyen said, sticking out her tongue at Diwa.

"That's... kind of different," Jenny said.  "That's supposed to be a performance.  Here, now... it's supposed to be me.  And I'm not really sure who that is."

"I could make you feel better," said Diwa, teasing.  "...or maybe just jump in the air."

"You were someone before everything happened, you don't have to be different now that you're back, right?" Hanako said.

"Where's Maria?" Huyen asked, ignoring Diwa.

"Right over there," said Susan.  Maria was trying not to fall down from laughing at the sight.

"That's not someone I want to be," said Jenny, softly.  "I need a new me."

"Um, but you're already great," Hanako said.

"I'm glad everyone's having so much fun," Huyen said.

Jenny started to say something, but words were hard.  She hugged Hanako instead.

"Aw, it's just because we all love you," laughed Diwa.  She did let go of Huyen.

Hanako blushed beet red and looked like she was trying to say something, but words were not coming out. She hugged you back, a bit lightly.

Huyen went over to walk beside Maria.

"So, was Diwa shameless?" Maria asked.

Jenny chuckled at this and ruffled her hair.

"Come on," she said.  "Let's go find Reina."

Reina was sitting on a bench off to the side of the school yard. She seemed to be practicing her drumming without the instrument.

"Not really, just some usual teasing," Huyen signed back. "I was kind of hoping it was you doing it though."

Jenny walked up behind her and scruffled her on the head.

"I can't say Guess Who without ruining the surprise," she signed back, pointing out the issue.

"Oh, hey there," Reina said. "What's up?"

"Yeah, but Diwa could have done it for you," Huyen signed.

She grinned.

"So you want my hands on you that badly?  Flirt..."

"Just seeing how my best girls are doing," said Jenny.  "How's it going?"

"Okay, I can't complain," Reina said. "You?"

"Well, when I have a beautiful girlfriend...can you blame me?" Mari signed back.

"And in public-- daring!" Maria signed.

"...just getting used to all this," said Jenny.  "Let's get going."

"Sure thing," Reina said, getting up and ready to follow.

"Well, if your sister is gonna bug me...I might as well have some fun of my own. Besides, less risky than flirting out loud," Huyen signed.

In response, Maria made some signs that were not, technically, ASL.  But "Flirting" was putting it mildly...

Jenny took a breath, adjusted her attitude for maximum (fake) confidence, and went into school, head held high.

A few of the girls were side-eyeing you, but not a ton of them.

Huyen blushed.

Well, that wasn't going to get her down.  She'd just work the experience into edgy lyrics.  On to her locker.

Maria grinned.

"You two are just hopeless," laughed Kim.

Your locker was right next to the rest of the bands'. In fact, this area was for the performers of the magical girl set.

"Hush," Huyen said.

That was fine.  Jenny switched around her possessions and hung up her jacket.  And made sure her locker was locked, just in case.

"So, on to class?" Diwa continued, shamelessly.  "Or were you two going to ditch together...?"

"I heard the schools talking about having a 'Battle of the Bands' next month," Reina said.

"Yes, yes, we're coming," Huyen said.

"Oh, really?" said Jenny.  "Sounds interesting... think you'll be up for that."

They made their way to class...

"We do have to show everyone we're the best," Reina said.

"Anyone have plans after school?" Huyen asked.

"Well, we could go hit the park," said Diwa.  "There's supposed to be some big animal display thing for the news."

"We do!" said Jenny, grinning.  She ruffled Reina's hair affectionately.  "That's the spirit!"

Reina grinned back.

"Sounds cool," Huyen said.

"...and now, we just have to survive classes," Diwa sighed in conclusion.

"Okay," said Jenny.  "Well.  On to class, I guess..."

The bell rang and soon class was in session...and soon it was lunch.
