All Together Now.

Zale, you open the door wide and call out, moving to stand behind the opened door in one fluid movement.

Cassandre, you finish shushing Breya, when you both suddenly hear something from the door you are heading for.

"Here kitty, kitty, kitty..."

The eyes of the crazy cat lady and all her kitty-wittys look that way.  And then they all look at the two of you Breya and Cassandre.  You and the cats and the cat lady all kind of stand there a moment, blinking at each other.

Murder Halfling/Brillum staggers slightly under the weight of your axe blow Jevin but doesn't fall over.  He slashes at you but swings a little too wide.  You side step it easily and deliver his options, then light him up.

Then he gets lit up again as your spell goes off Bellinha.

"My eyes!" Murder Halfling/Brillum shouts alound.  "My beautiful, beautiful eyes!  You've blinded me!"

And then you whack him with the flat of your blade Bellinha

Breya and Cassandre, from around the corner, through the now open northwest door, you hear

"My eyes! My beautiful, beautiful eyes! You've blinded me!"

And then a THWACK as something metal thunks on skin.

But...you know.  You have other concerns at the moment.

So the situation is this:

Jevin and Bellinha are playing Monkey in the Middle with Murder Halfling/Brillum in the northwest doorway.  He's dazzled and lit up by Fae Fire.  Still up and kicking though.  Zale you are covered by the partially open door.

Cassandre and Breya, you are midway between the northern and northwest door in Area 5, staring at the Cat Lady and Cats.

You guys are going first.  So post your actions and rolls please.

Questions?  Thanks

Breya stared right back and clapped her shoulder with her free hand.

Audacity.  Audacity.  Audacity.  Act like you own the place.

"Yeah, whaddya want?  You see something you like sweetheart?  Make a sculpture, it'll last longer!  Now get back to your business, I have places to be that aren't here!"  She glowered.  "You don't have a problem with that, do you?"

11:00, Today: Breya rolled 17 using 1d20+5.  Intimidation of Crazy Cat Lady or Attempt thereof.

Bellinha chanced a look behind her to see what Zale had done, and looked right through an open door into the room full of cats.  And they were looking at her.  "...Zaaaallllleeee...." she started too say nervously.  The Undine was not in sight and it seemed like a whole room of cats...

Brillums shouting caused her to turn back around, with him being the immediate threat.  "Will you be quiet!  And stop trying to stab people!" she shouted at the Halfling, swinging the flat of her blade at him again.  No sense in being quiet now.

OOC:
Bellinha Grunnel rolled 4 for her attack.

All Together Now.

Cassandre was about to open the door, and open it did. She was a magician by trade, but reality bending to her will was a new one. Maybe her gift of clairvoyance had taken a new unexpected turn?

A second later of course she realised someone else was involved, and they caught the cats’ attention — if anything the situation had gotten somehow weirder. She let Breya try and bluff her way out and decided to simply walk out.

Step by step, with no more hurry than strictly required, she walked through the door with and air of saying « don’t mind me, just passing through ». She was not one to leave her friend behind, but then she and Breya had just met. For all she knew she was a terrible person. Still she whispered to her as she walked away:
“Just follow me out of here, cats can’t open doors…”

Not understanding the situation on the other side of the door, other than it involving a bunch of people somehow more colourful than even she was, she refrained from intervention, and instead carried on walking towards the nearest exit.

Her cat followed close by, so close he was literally glued to her knee. She hoped by all the saints that no one would confuse her little friend with one of the crazy lady’s cats…

Brillum screams, "Hey!" as you whack him Bellinha.  He then screams "HEY!" as he gets whacked and doused Zale

But he seems to have stopped trying to stab people at the moment.

Cassandre, the door is pretty full at the moment.  Passing by the half elf with the sword, the undine peeking out from behind the door, the burly guy with the axe, and the halfling that is wet and screaming may take some doing.

But before you do, something catches your attention...

Crazy Cat Lady scrunches up her face, her lips puckering, and shivers.  Big, oily looking tears start to spill from her eye.

Suddenly, she starts to yell at you Breya"You're mean!  Stop being mean you meanie!"

Jevin kept it simple.  Since the halfling wanted to fight to the death, he decided he would just disarm him.

He struck and the wrist and hand area of the halfling with the blunt side of his hand axe trying to disarm him.

OOC:   Not trying to damage him as much as knock the dagger out of the halfling's hand.

12:24, Today: Jevin Holt rolled 9 using 1d20+6.  Disarm- blunt side of the hand axe.

Cassandre paused before going through the open door. It was crowded on the other side, and she had a bad feeling she would catch a loose arrow or a lost knife. Besides, something odd caught her attention…

She turned to face the old lady and cast a simple divination spell, one of her favourites. Her purple eyes briefly lit up with a pale blue light, as she perused the cats.

“That is one kaleidoscopic clowder,” she mused. “There just isn’t as many felines as meets the eye, right Apollo?”

Her cat looked at the others, likewise gauging what was real and what wasn’t.

Breya cocked her fists on her hips, or approximated it, given one arm was occupied by her scizore.

In reply to Jevin Holt (msg # 7):

"Ow!  What is it with you people and whacking me?"  Brillum/Murder Halfling drops the knife after you whap him Jevin, holding his hand up to his mouth and kind of blowing on it.

You pick up the confirmation you need from Apollo Cassandre.  There are a lot less cats in the room than it appears.  Now that he's looking for it, he can sort out the scents to some degree...there is a lot of cat piss in this room, even for a cat to handle...and some of the cats don't appear to have a scent.

You consider the information.  There is a spell you've heard of.  One that makes copies of target.  It's a defensive spell, mostly used by mages and some creatures to make them harder targets.  That could be what's going on here...

"I know you are but what am I!" Crazy Cat Lady retorts back at you Breya.

But then you say you're leaving and her eyes get wide.  Her fingers start to fidget.

"Oh...no. YOu can't!  Then I'll get in trouble!  And then..."

She starts to raise her hands and mutters something that sounds vaguely arcaney...

Now we're in combat.

Everyone, give me those init rolls if you have not already, post your actions and your rolls.

Crazy Cat Lady is on the raised dias in the middle of the room.  25' away from Breya and Cassandre.  35' for those in the doorway.  Charging at her will require you to run through the fields of cats.

Cassandre may seem sluggish and absent-minded, but she's surprisingly quick on her feet when she dives into action.
"Most of the kitties ar just figments, one may as well ignore them," she declares and steps forward into the feline colony.

She stepped ten feet towards the dais, and reached into one of the numerous pockets on her colourful robes. She cast forward a handful of coloured sand, and a bright rainbow shot forth towards the crazy cat lady, engulfing her in an array of blinding and stunning colours.

Cassandre did her best to capture as many different cats as she could within the area of her illusion.

Apollo the black cat meanwhile circled around the room, and spent a moment doing an inventory of the genuine felines in the room.

Well now it was time for Plan C.  There was bright magic flying around, Breya waited for it to clear up before she ran in screaming.  Even if she didn't quite connect, she hoped to get in the finger waggler's face.  They didn't like it when you got in their faces.

Breya will Charge the Crazy Cat Lady.  Using Scizore as a shield, basically.  Going to Power Attack.

"Drop your hands and tell me how many of you there are here.  I know at least 6 from the ambush."

Watching the halfling, Jevin looked in the room and cast a spell down low on the wall.

OOC:  Casting Dancing Lights down low on a wall and on the ground in that area.   Trying to get the cats to run to it and chase the lights.

In reply to Jevin Holt (msg # 14):

The large courtyard is suddenly filled with lots of lighting effects.  And a sling stone.  And a screaming woman charging another screaming woman.

Cassandre, you get off your spell before Crazy Cat Lady gets hers off.  Your rainbow launches at her, managing to catch a few cats on it's way.  Those that are slump to the ground.

Jervin, you send the globes of light into the room, making them flicker about.  A few cats jump towards them, giving chase.  Not as many as you may have hoped. But some were blinded by a rainbow and some are busy with the screaming woman.

Zale, your stone manages to catch Crazy Cat Lady on the side of the head.  She slumps sideways a bit.

Breya, as you charge a couple of cats pounce on you.  Well, more like eight cats, but oddly it doesn't hurt as much as you would have thought 3 points damage nor do they feel as heavy as you would have thought.

Then Breya, you reach the dias and make a wild swing, sure you missed as you launch your blow.  But Crazy Cat Lady seems to be out of it for the moment.  And because this stone that comes flying out of nowhere and strikes zonked out Crazy Cat Lady on the side of the head, she falls towards you...

Teamwork Breya.  Becuase Cass stunned her, you get a +4.  So you actually hit.  Roll  damage.

The cats, those that aren't zonked out or chasing Jevin's orbs of light are either rushing after Breya or bounding towards the door...

Your guys go.  Don't forget to give me that damage Breya.

Thanks

Cassandre grinned as her spell took effect, satisfied with the result. She sidestepped out of the way as the sling bullet shot towards the Cat Lady, inexplicable aware of it, and moved to be behind Breya, whom she sees as a rempart against feline fury.

"Grab and subdue her, ignore the cats - thuogh I know they scratch..." she cheered behind the tall redhead brawler.

She crumpled a piece of wax and tossed it in to the ground near the wall. From there, two enraged barking dogs can be heard, unseen but very present in the soundscape of the room - particularly so for anyone who is currently blinded, or dazzled by lighting effects. Moreover, they sound like they are approaching Breya.

"Off you trot now..." the small illusionist muses in sing-song.

Meanwhile Apollo has forgotten all about his inventory assignment and is busy chasing after the lights dancing on the wall with a tabby...

05:49, Today: Breya rolled 7 using 1d3+6.  Damage from Last Round - nonlethal.

First, that.

Also, that starts her to Bleeding from Breya's Bleeding attack feat, so let's roll that damage too.

05:52, Today: Breya rolled 3 using 1d4.  Bleeding Attack.

so 10 damage possible.

Breya didn't vocalize a response.  Grabbing her would be a slight problem with the scizore equipped.  It was okay though, now that her enemy was directly in front of her, Breya could affect control of a sort.

A few jabs and a left hook would probably work just fine.

So one advantage of Unarmed, at least with the Feat, is you can do lethal or nonlethal damage.  She's just as decommissioned either way, so Breya is going for nonlethal damage to try to subdue the Crazy Cat Lady.  Granted, the slings and bleeding might kill her, but the hope is that Breya can do enough damage nonlethally to put her down.

Power Attacking again.

05:54, Today: Breya rolled 10 using 1d20+6.  Power Attack.
05:54, Today: Breya rolled 9 using 1d3+6.  damage just in case.
And in case either this hit or she can't get rid of the Bleeding damage:
05:55, Today: Breya rolled 2 using 1d4.  Bleeding Attack.
So 11 damage is possible.

Jevin kept his focus on the halfling.

"I'm going to ask one more time.  How many of you are there here.   I know of the ambush you all did in the woods.   A lot of loggers and woods folk are upset and following my trail here.   Last thing you want is them to come here mad.   Who all is here and who are you working with.   LAST time I will ask you."

Jevin's accent stuck out and was thick.  It was obvious he was upset and emphasized the word last as he spoke to the halfling.   He waited his response.

OOC:  Focusing on the halfling and talking.   Seeing if he will respond this last time.  Speaking loud enough for him to hear.

"What?" what's the Murder Halfling/Brillum in response to your question Jevin"I don't know anything about ambushing loggers.

"But if you wanna know more, check the clock."
He nods his head towards the west.  There's a large grandfather clock against the wall, ticking and tocking in happy solitude.

"There's a passage under it to the others."

Barking sounds fill the air.  Several cats look up and look around, freezing.

"Owie!" owies Crazy Cat Lady, falling on one knee.  "What is wrong with you? Why are you picking on me?"

She seems to have snapped out of it, even as another of Zale's sling stones bounces off her shoulder.

Several cats land on your back Breya3 more points of damage.  They throw off your second strike and Crazy Cat Lady manages to dodge backwards, almost falling off the dias.

She instead throws the bucket of chum in her hands at you.  A wide spray of ick splashes at you...

Breya, make a Reflex save 8- or be blinded by stinky guts and ichors until you make the roll

Murder Halfing/Brillum is directing you guys to the grandfather clock as the entrance to some secret lair.

Crazy Cat Lady is still up.  Barely.  She is bleeding but you didn't get the stun bonus this round Breya.  Better luck next time.
