Cassandre looked around, but she might as well have mud in her eyes for all that she sees...
Cassandre Lagrene rolled 1 using 1d20.  Intuition roll
Cassandre Lagrene rolled 21 using 1d20+18.  Perception

The little wizard paused and thought. She cast a quick spell. For now it just showed her there was magic in the air. But she would keep her concentration, and focus on illusion magic, and will narrow it down until she can discern the one magic aura she's interested in...

  Cast Detect Magic, maintain focus

Karina leaves the looking to the people who can actually see well. "Oh Miss Gracie, I suggest you listen and just give up, gonna hurt less that way."
When the others seem to have gotten a good guess to where she is, some of them guessing with a knife, she steps a little closer, speaking some words, and making water rain down around her, hopefully outlining her by the void she creates.

Casting Create Water in the square the others hit her in

Ansel looks around at the action, she seems to have been caught but isn't giving up. He starts focusing a Detect Magic on the area. They would get her eventually. "Give up miss, there is no need for further bloodshed."

12:36, Today: Breya rolled 7 using 1d20-1.  Perception.

Breya, having no clue where anything was, kept moving toward where she'd seen the pebbles disturbed.

You all start to move forward...

And then the water breaks!

Good move Karina

The sudden downpour reveals a half orc shaped mass in the midst of it.

"Shitfire!"

A dagger comes flying out of nowhere towards you Skeeter!..or towards you if you were standing 10' to the left of where you are.

"SHITFire!" the now visible Grace screams, turning and rushing at Breya.  At least as fast as the Stone Call will let her rush.

It appears she's not going to go down without a fight Ansel

She's outgunned here.  But Grace is not going to go down without a fight.

Torcherino has a few coins on her Jack.  And a silver ring 18 sp and the ring is worth about 50 GP

She looks up at you as you find the ring.  "I know you hate me an' all. But can you leave me the ring?  It was my grandmother's."

"Oh hell yes!"  Breya grinned and charged right into the oncoming mass.  She kept it simple, going for a clinch.

22:33, Today: Breya rolled 31 using 1d20+11.  Improved Grapple.

Kamatar looks and then draws two more blunt arrows and fires at the wet half-orc. The sight of her body dribbling water
tickles his fancy and amidst his laughter, both arrows miss their target.

OOC
Kamatar Yu Pan rolled 9,6 using d20+5,d20+5.  Orc Hornbow w/ blunt arrows.

Unless she didn't care to defend herself whatsoever I think Kamatar missed.

Skeeter swings in, scrambling up Grace even as Breya comes to grips with her, spinning his dagger with a flourish before stabbing it into her shoulder. "I'm ever so grateful that you decided to grace us with your presence!"

Climb Grace with some Derring Do: 22+4= 26 vs CMD (Forgot my Underfoot Agility Bonus)
Attack 24 vs AC
2 dagger + 7 Sneak = 9 Damage

I'm climbing into a position that provides Flanking with Breya. That might draw an opportunity attack from Grace against my 20 AC.

Once I'm up on her, I'm Flat Footed, but Grace has -2 to hit me

Cassandre is just glad her pebble shower kept Grace from running away.

She lets the others deal with the actual capture.

Focused on her spell still, she slowly scans the area and triple checks  everyone is here an accounted for.

In reply to Cassandre Lagrene (msg # 336):

Grace manages a wicked uppercut that slices into you Breya. I'm not going to worry about damage, because...

Then you are on her.  And Skeeter is on her.  And the three of you are...well.  There the three of you are.

And Grace is captured

"Looks like we get to have that rope play you were hoping for, Grace," Skeeter says as Grace is bound and hauled back to wherever the rest of the pirates are being held. Hope she knows something about who "J" is, he thought, remembering the empty treasure chest.

Torchie cocks an eyebrow at you Jack"My Mother?  She was a whore over at Camp Marker.  That should answer the question on who my Dad was.

"Mother gave me to my Gran to raise.  That ring's all I got left a' my Grandma.  Please.  I'll take whatever punishment I got comin'.  But let me have that with me at least."

Grace manages to toss her head back, flipping her head defiantly.

"Whatever.  Skeeter here is all talk, incapable of action.  In Orc, the word for Halfling is Uhmmmla.  Or Bite Size."

What questions you got for good ol' Grace?

I will answer them tomorrow.  Then will move us along.

We got a pirate hideout that needs a raidin'

Thanks

"Who's 'J', Grace? Who did you let take the treasure from the chest you were guarding? Why were you guarding an empty chest!?"

Those are the questions on my mind, anyway. Probably would be good to get passcodes(flag orders or whatever semaphores or something) to sail back to the pirate hideout.

Kamatar does a quick head count to make certain that no one was lost amids the moments of chaos which occurred during the capture of Grace.

Noting that Cassandre seems focussed on something he cannot see, he decides not to disturb her. He notes that Ansel, too seems to be focussed on something he cannot see. Walking over to Karina, he keeps an eye on Grace after regaining most of his composure.

"Thank you, Karina, for giving Grace that shower, she needed it in many ways and it saved us some trouble. Forgive me for thinking that you might have needed help finding your way around. Still, I'd be happy to escort you and a couple of the others back to the inn. I'm sure you'd like to finish your meal."

In reply to Mr. Whetstone (msg # 341):

"Then tell me about your Grandmother", says Jack.  "And by the way, who is J?"

The ring's far too cheap to be a magic ring.  It's clearly not even masterwork so he doesn't mind handing it back but he hopes she can be rehabilitated into decent society and that means finding out as much as he can.

Re: AOSL 2:  Assault On Salt Lick!  Defend Those Beaches!

In reply to Breya (msg # 345):

Torchie blinks at you Jack, obviously puzzled at why you're taking this time to talk to her.

"Gran was...she was alright.  Kinda ol' fashioned.  She kept tellin' me to work an' keep to the right road.  But it didn't do her any good.  She got behind in her taxes.  They took her to a slave camp.  All nice and legal.  I ran away."

She shrugs.  "And "J"?  Only person I can think it'd be is..."

Grace barks a laugh after Breya's comment Skeeter.  She squints back at you.

"Like I'd be afraid of Teeny Tim here.

"Oh.  You musta seen that note in the chest.  Yeah.  That pissed me off as well.  I guess you wouldn't know Skeeter.  He was off ship by the time you got there.  But the only person "J" could be...only asshole who'd leave a note like that is..."

"...Jax."

"...Jax.  He was first mate on The Priestess at one point.  But he got crossways with the Captain over some kind of deal.  So they stuck his ass on babysitting duty at a smuggling post."

She shrugs.  "When and how that bastard got back aboard is beyond me.  But he got us good.  Once again."

Jack, Torchie basically tells you the same info about Jax.

Any questions?  If not, we will start a new thread tomorrow.

Thanks

In reply to Jack Ketch (msg # 348):

Torcharina seems overcome with emotion when you give her back the ring Jack.  You hear her whisper her thanks, but she starts crying.  So maybe she said Pranks or I Rob Banks or something similar instead.

As you saunter up to the others, you hear Grace respond to Skeeter's question.  "Sail in like you're a pirate?  How the hell should I know?  I was never the navigator.  I was just supposed to kill people."

Karina keeps moistening the orc until she becomes visible again, or because she needs a rinsing. Who's to say? Either way, it doesn't take long for the others to subdue her along with her co-arsonist. "Well, that's that, then."

When the half-orc who had offered to help her before the scuffle thanks her, she gives him a smile. "I'm always happy to set the stage for a nice bout of mudwrestling." She looks around at the fuzzy buildings around them. "Ah yes, I suppose I might need a bit to find my way back. Less shouting to follow this time. Sounds like these pirates are a bit more forthcoming, so shouldn't need my skill to crack em open this time."
