It probably *was* +2 in earlier editions. I'm pretty sure that Advantage/Disadvantage came in with 5e. :)

No. I have yet to step foot on the spider-, snake-, and god knows what else-infested shores of Australia. But, I am officially retired on Wednesday and it is on the travel list for the wife and I!

Thanks! I am quite happy about calling it a career. I've spent 32 years 55.5 days (but whose counting) working for the Federal government and I'm pretty sure I am past my expiry date!

Don't know how it is in Canada, but here in the States the federal government provides excellent retirement benefits (or at least it used to). My dad worked for the U.S. version of the federal government.

Yeah, it's how you get hooked in! I was planning on working there for maybe 5 years and then the defined benefits pension is dangled in front of you and BOOM you're mesmerised and 30 years passes!

The pay was always less than I could have made in the private sector, but having the pension is huge at this point.

Congratulations!  I have at least 18 years to go.  That will make me 60 and my youngest 21.

You're still young! I'll be 58 in a few months, my only offspring just turned 17.

She heads off to university next September...so the wife and I may be free at that point! Depends on where she gets accepted.

I live in the southwest corner of BC, just north of Seattle. The one place in all of Canada that does not normally get full-on Canadian winter...and this year we got pummelled!

Look on YouTube for Vancouver drivers in snow and you can see the idiots in action!

I except myself as our car has proper winter tires on it!

My son lives in Seattle and works as a claims agent (in some manner that I do not fully understand) with a national automobile insurance company.

I expect that he will have an especially busy period over the near future, for the very reason that you mention (idiots + tough winter driving conditions = "Oh, oh!!"). :)
