Tegan does not really have a preference. All of the foregoing choices allow him to draw steel in the service of the Light. :)

Once we have those last three items dealt with we can probably head back to the caves. We know where some of the orcs are, so we can go after them if we like. Or we can try to spot the bugbears and give that a try.

I think that Zenphar and Tegan have headed over to do that very thing! :)

After an hour of studying one of the potions you come to the conclusion that it is a potion of fire breath.
All three potions are identical.
The Goblin King was going to breath fire on you if he lived long enough.

Man, those Goblins were just full of all sorts of nasty tricks! :)

Regarding the chest, I was under the same impression as Zenphar -- i.e., that the party had brought it to the keep. I can go back and look for the pertinent post(s) when I have a bit more time.

P.S. Here is the pertinent part of the IC post (Msg. #295 of "The Caves of Chaos" thread) wherein Tegan suggested carrying the chest back to the keep in the hopes that someone could open the secret compartment (after both Zenphar's and Tegan's own efforts failed):

That makes things far more simple for me than sending a NPC to the caves.  I'm at work I will up date things when I get home tonight.

All good.  We are all on the same page now.

Notification that tomorrow I start a two-month business trip, with three days of travel to get there.  I am not sure how this will impact my posting rate until I get there.

For me this is not a relocation.  I will relocate next year from my current “home” to another country for three years.  This is just a temporary job, in Ecuador

I have an uncle and cousin that have done similar work for their careers, long term business trips. Good luck and hope you can keep up.

As for me, quietly waiting to move on. Thromm basically drinks and gets hung over in town. Not sure he has any shopping to do.

I had Guinea Pig in Peru.  It is surprisingly good.

I did not eat cuy (guinea pig) when I was in Peru.
