ANNOUNCEMENT
So... when I set up the game and started accepting players the 1st of June seemed like a nice deadline to give people lots of time to come up with concepts and get their RTJ's in. I didn't, however, realize just how freaking far away June was at the time!

I've gotten a lot of interest in the game an a lot of good character concepts and I feel there are enough players that the game can get underway a lot sooner. So I'm changing the cut off date from June 1st to May 21st, 2021 or this Friday. I will be letting everyone know whether they have been accepted into the game on Friday by 4pm. Ideally this will give all the players time to build their characters over the weekend and allow us to officially kick off the game on May 24th.

So if you are one of the potential players that hasn't yet gotten me a full RTJ and character concept, please do so before noon on Friday, otherwise you will not be considered. All those who do not get selected on Friday will be offered status as Lurkers, and should a player need to be replaced for any reason, Lurkers will be given first round priority before I go looking elsewhere.

Hi Everyone!

Long time RPGer, though I'm relatively new to Pathfinder.

I'll be playing a Kraken caller druid. She should be pretty good on the front lines once she gains a level or two, and a good healer.

She's going to be a little touchy and prone to anger, but she's got good reason to be loyal to the party. If you want me to tone her attitude down just let me know.

P.S. Anyone figure out where I got the name from?

Hello everybody, nice to meet you all. I'll be playing Malakai, a dragonborn magus. As you might expect, I'll usually be around the front lines cutting away at whatever nasties the GM throws our way.

Malaki'll be a bit on the curt side, and while he's not secretly a huge softy, he is loyal, so no need to fear any scheming from this angle. Of course, I suppose that's what I'd say if I was scheming and trying to get you to lower your guard, so I guess we'll just have to see it all unfold.

Sorry Marsha, if the name's a reference I've missed it.

I am Kavaroth Bonecruncher Thunukala.  As you can see I am a Goliath.  My Rage will keep me on the front lines.  I have defeated many opponent in the fighting pits and helping to protect caravans from raiders and bandits.

My job is to crunch the bones of others in protection of the party.

RAAAAWWWRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

-----------------

My name is Will and I've been playing pathfinder with an in-person group for about 2 years.  I don't know all the ins and outs and recently started a PF2e game here on RPOL so I'm hoping a I don't get everything confused. :) haha

I enjoy rolling dice, but I also enjoy finding creative solutions to our encounters.  I know that some will undoubtedly be combat, but sometimes it's cool and fun to find non-combat ways to resolve encounters. :)

Hello everyone! I will be playing Marinela Szilagyi, the (only) human Witch Hunter Inquisitor; I do a little of everything with a focus on battling enemy casters.

Marinela herself is a little prickly and jaded but she's working on it, and what she lacks in tavern etiquette she makes up for in combat.

Marsha I think I get your reference but I also think I'm wildly wrong.

Hey guys! Glad to see everyone settling in. I just wanted to drop in and let you guys know that I will be floating in and out periodically this weekend as it is not only my weekend with my kiddos but we're also celebrating one of my son's Birthdays this weekend as he turns 12 on Tuesday.

So if you guys see that I've been on but aren't responding this is the reason why. I will get to all of your questions as soon as I can, it just probably won't be until late.

The chance of any individual 3d6 roll being 16 or higher is around 5% or 1 in 20.
To get an 18, it's 1 in 6 to the third or 216 to 1 (.0046% I think?).

I actually don't mind playing this way, so long as someone isn't running around with multiple 18's or anything or no bonuses at all (eww). It actually used to be worse.

Back in 2nd ed. I had a str 16 fighter who did 1d8+3 (3/2) with a rapier.
The two axe wielding orc ranger with strength 19, at level 1, did 1d6+14 (5/2).

It's almost like that :/

Complaints aside, it was mostly a kick to the confidence to roll single digits four times during stat gen. As it stands, she'll be functional, if only just.

My work has recently begun letting people go, and it's fallen on the rest of us to pick up the slack. Hours are increasing and when I do get home, I'm too tired to do much of anything but shove some food in my mouth and go to sleep. As it stands, I am currently incapable of giving this game the attention which it deserves, and must step away. I am sorry to cut and run like this, and wish you all the best.

So... after I posted calling for initiative I realized that not only is it unnecessary, but also makes a big bottle neck. So, from now on, we'll just skip it. Most of the time it should be pretty obvious which side should get to act first and you guys can just go in post order. When I posted I had in my head I'd average all your initiatives and make it more fair... but I think it'll be fine without all that extra work and waiting.

So, in short, sorry for the delay. I've learned that what I had in mind isn't so effective so I'm changing it. :D

Re: OOC I

quote:
How does one play Krzzt?
Well, since this is a "game" and not a fight we won't use attack rolls since one of the rules is that you keep your hands to your side and allow yourself to be punched. As well, I think despite it being of Orcish concept, the game isn't meant to be lethal. So here is what we'll do:

The half orc will let Neil go first. Roll 1d6 and add your strength modifier like you would to a melee attack. We'll add 10 and this will be the Fortitude save the Half-orc has to make in order to keep his feet. If he fails the save Neil will have won. If he passes he stays on his feet and he'll get his turn, where he'll follow the same rules and set the DC for Neil's Fortitude save.

The question is, what do we do if they both pass their saves? I'd prefer this not to become a back and forth for multiple saves. Anyone got any ideas on how one might judge this sort of contest fairly?

That is the default DC to beat if you guys want to make a roll. That way you don't have to ask "What's the disable device DC for these three locks?" you can just tell me you're rolling Disable Device and make the roll.

Just makes things a bit more streamlined. :)
