I know, what are you talking about? That's why I failed both actions.

Talisman:
Ah, I missed that detail, my mistake.

Do you want to redo your post, or do something else. A -3 hinder is nice, so I'm fine with letting it stick for now.

Sorry I haven't posted yet today by the way. Been a busy day at work with lots of meetings, so couldn't sneak away to post here inbetween other work.

So, with only one Lt. left I'm closing down the scene, and you are in RP mode again. Feel free to roleplay, but before long SWAT forces will probably show up.

Re: OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

I have put up the next setting element. The Government Agency. This is similar to S.H.I.E.L.D. in marvel and the D.E.O. or A.R.G.U.S. in the Arrowverse.

Re: OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

The Government Agency

Name: A.E.G.I.S. (Advanced Expert Group for Intervention and Security? American Elite Government Intervention Service? Allied Enterprise Group for International Security?)

What is the organization's core mission?
  • Tamp Down on All Powered Individuals. The agency focuses on suppressing all powered people, heroes and villains alike, to keep them out of the public eye.

How do the agents dress for field work?
  • Jumpsuits and Utility Belts. Specialists who focus on utility and comfort over flashy style.

Under what authority does this agency operate?
  • Off the Books. They operate outside of the law, in secret.

Where is the organizatoin headquartered?
  • Decentralized Cells. No central headquarters. Members operate out of safe houses and temporary bases of operations, acting as independent cells with little hierarchal oversight.

What is the organization's most notable advantage?
  • Hyper-Advanced Technology. They repurpose and utilize captured super-science devices, turning them into standard-issue gear.

Re: OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

Feel free to spend your Hero Points now.

You need to decide now how many and how big bonuses they should be split into, but do not have to define them until you use them.

You also have your first Back Issue in Streetlight Knights #1. I will update with a Issue #2 thread.

Sorry, been gone all weekend. Are we still able to RP in the previous thread? Def appreciate the need to continue moving forward but it's a strength of the media that we can multi-thread.

OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

Today was a complete PTSD-induced hell, but I had an idea for Evie's next action. GM, if the comic-book physics of my end result seem a stretch, I will gladly put a +2 hero-point bonus into it (even though that does not negate the minor twist) and suggest that Evie times her leap to catch the tail edge of Talisman's density increase (Yeah, baby! TEAMWORK!) and slams into the truck at several times her own weight.

Re: OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

I can see that Spark hasn't logged on for a couple of days. So I'm going to rule that he takes a basic defense action. Then if he hasn't posted by the end of next round I'll write him out of the scene for now.

Re: OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

Did the damage done by Shroud factor in Evie's damage reduction? If not, then with Shade's assistance I reduce their Attack to zero. Leaves me in the Yellow Zone either way. Oh, and I mistakenly left that out of my own Major twist calculation. Evie would take one less from the truck landing on her. Health is at 23 or 21 depending on your answer. Shroud's full damage would have just put me in the Red Zone. The flaws in my design decisions for Evie become increasingly apparent, but such is life.

Evie O'Fife:
Did the damage done by Shroud factor in Evie's damage reduction?

Looked up the result on the dice log, answering my own question. The damage did not factor in her Created Form ability, so Evie is currently at 23 Health and ready for action.

Re: OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

Changed one word in msg #16 of Issue #2: Breaking the Bank Part 2. Evie's clothing is not blood-soaked, because what flows inside her veins is not actually blood. I changed it to ichor-soaked, after the etheric fluid said to course through the veins of immortals in Greek myth. It is pale golden in color, has a consistency and conductivity similar to liquid mercury, and glows faintly in the dark. (All this is pure flavor text, no bearing on the rules.)

Then we're up to date for now. I have added a new setting element, the Agency Chief. The Nick Fury or Amanda Waller of this setting.

Re: OOC: Setting Creation and Out of Character

Name: Doctor Robert Jenkins
First Appearance:

What is this person fundamentally like?
A cunning, respected, former agent.

What visible sign of past battles does this person bear?
Cybernetic/Prosthetic Replacements. The agency chief has visible cybernetics or prosthetics, replacing lost body parts with technology.
Jenkins has a cybernetic hand to replace the one he lost during his past activities he is not legally allowed to talk about.

What is the agency chief's attitude toward powered heroes?
Wary Cooperation. The chief recognizes the value of their agency collaborating with heroes, though the chief is not convinced that the heroes aren’t more trouble than they are worth.

Why do heroes doubt this person's intentions?
Political Meddling. The agency chief frequently meddles in the politics both of their own government and those of other nations. There are persistent rumors that the chief is responsible for coups in third-world countries and uprisings in unfriendly nations.
