Re: The Berg - Khi-Khi's Cantina

Rashu blinked at the revelation the drink incident was on purpose Wow. She's bold. he thought - and that she was talking to him. His eyebrows rose up. "Well, I am sorry to hear he didn't appreciate your, ah..." He paused looking for the best phrasing, ""enthusiastic and innovative approach?"

He frowned lightly when she inspected the glass and talked about being careful. He didn't understand that one. He shook his head, however, again misunderstanding her, thinking she recognized what he was. "I'm not a Knight. Yet. Hopefully, one day, I'll be ready to take the Trials."

She was talking a lot and kind of hard to follow for him. With a physical start, he gave her a half-bow. "Oh, of course, my apologies - it's been a long trip but that's no excuse for a lack of manners. I am Rashu Lassa."

Wait - had she said Companion? His eyes widened slightly and he tried not to blush.

Re: The Berg - Khi-Khi's Cantina

Khi-Khi found Xorb to be a welcome, if a bit messy, addition to the cantina. She definitely brought warm energy and enthusiasm, but some of her methods were a little rough around the edges. Still, spilled drinks meant more drinks bought, so it worked out.

At the main counter, the newest arrival to the station was certainly feeling out of place. Khi-Khi would help fix that! "Hellooooo~ and welcome to Khi-Khi's Can-tiiiiiiiiii-NA! Yousa in luck! Our house special is'a sooooooo special you will feel special too! Please, come sit and have a great time at Khi-Khiiiiiiii's!"

OOC: 3CR for the meal.

In reply to Rashu Lassa (msg # 21):

She giggled playfully at his comment about her approach. She responded with confidence that boardered on arrogance, "I'm not worried, he'll be back."

She let him finish before responding to the rest. "Pleased to meet you. Now what do you mean by trials?"

Kris was decked out in her standard spacer suit. The suit was grey with white accents. Kris walked up to the bar, "Yelsain ale if you have it. Otherwise, Coruscant." She looked around the bar for a moment before she inquired with the bartender, "I heard that the Berg hosts a race. When is the next scheduled race?"

Motioning with his hands, ok,ok,ok, Bastian accepts the suggestion of the loud Gingan. "That's fine, no need to announce it."

He passes 3 credits across the bar as a colorful figure sits down nearby.

Kris Devereux:
"Yelsain ale if you have it. Otherwise, Coruscant."

Bastian smiles at the lady, "You know I'm on my way to Coruscant. Just got a little sidetracked is all. The names Bastian, Bastian Rail. What races are you referring to?"

Lina laughed, her hand subconsciously moving to the hair she kept in front of her face.

"She seems fun. We'll have to look her up later when we're less busy. So, I don't know about you, but I think trying to buy some drugs is the best way to find someone who sells them. Not that I've got the feel of this place yet."

"Easier done than said." he says with a shrug. "If we were the kind of people who did drugs." he stops and scratches his chin. "Our best bet is to go ask Popah about some of the addicts. They'd be the ones who could lead us to their supplier."

He looks around knowing the Besalisk is a patron and might be in the cantina right now. If not they'd have to go to his office or talk to one of the guards.

In reply to Bastion Rail (msg # 25):

Kris turned to face Bastian. She smiled, "Name's Kris, Kris Devereux." She turned back to the bartender and found him gone helping another customer. "I specialize in Swoop Bikes. I'll fly anything... as long as it goes fast. But now that I think on it, I think I'll fly something slow... as long as it is a race." The young lady had bright red hair that was hard to miss in a crowd, but somehow the bartender was preoccupied. "I was told that someone was organizing a race. It may not even be official at this point. But that was enough for me to try to get a jump on things." She turned her back to the bar and considered Bastian thoughtfully. "If I don't find a race, then I'd better find something else to occupy my time. I'm not keen on a job." She rolled her eyes, "Tending a bar or someone other retail operations is not my thing. I need something that gets the blood flowing, if you know what I mean."

As Engeram and Lina scan the increasingly filling cantina lower level, they can spot the hulking form that is an elderly-looking besalisk with two cybernetic arms. Not many of them can claim that description and only one on this station does. He sits off to one side leaning against a wall with his drink and watching the crowd.

Rashu looked surprised, a light frown touching his face. She'd called him a knight, so he assumed she knew..."No, she said a knight in shining armor."

He shook his head. "My apologies. We are speaking the same language but different terminology."<goldenrod> He flashed her a small, rueful smile. <goldenrod>"I am a Padawan of the Jedi Order. The next step along my path would be Jedi Knight, but there are Trials, capital T, that have to be faced in order to progress."

He sat down next to her. "May I know your name as well?"

Bastion sat back in his stool slightly at the comment. It sparked a realization, did he really expect to get all the way to Coruscant on a few hundred credits. Certainly now that his plans had gone so amiss and he found himself well off the beaten path. Growing up in a monastery means he'd never had a job before. What could he even do?

"I'm with you on that point." is all he offered as a reply. If this woman, Kris, knew about making some credits he may just need to follow along.

Re: The Berg - Khi-Khi's Cantina

Kris' face lite up when she learned that there was a race. And the Gungdan answered her other concern, she didn't have a ride. "Hey I'll ride for Khi-Khi. You need a racer. And I need a sponsor and a ride. Keep me in mind when the time comes. Remember me. I'm the one with the red hair." Kris wasn't about to let an opportunity to slip through her fingers.

She turned back to Bastion and considered her options. "So you need a few credits too. We're like two eels in a river. We should work together. Some of the jobs that I saw hinted that there would be trouble. But I'm really interested in the one that may lead to salvage. Hopefully there's an engine. We can modify it, add a seat... and we've got a swoop bike!" Kris drank half her ale in one swallow. She wiped her mouth. "Well what do you say Bastion. Care to join me?"

Kris carried her ale as she slid through the cantina, "Come on. I remember seeing the notice around one these tables." She sat at a table with a console in the middle. She tapped a few keys and pulled up the information. << Dated Distress Call >>

"I don't like to make assumptions, but I think I only see one besalisk in this whole cantina..."

Hands behind her back, she approached the old besalisk.

"Papah Houg? We're interested in a bounty that was recently posted. They mentioned junkies in the advertisement, is there somewhere they seem to be congregating?"

Xorb had no idea what a Payd-awon was and that showed on her face. She knew what a Jedi was, at least in theory. Then he asked her name. She grinned, perhaps giggled again a bit. She stood from her cross-legged position in one motion without using her hands. She used her bottom hands to pull up an imaginary skirt as she gave a curtsy. She said (for the second time) a bit more slowly. "As I said, I am Xorb-Yi, Companion and head-buster when the occasion calls for it. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

She went back down to her folded leg position again in one motion and without using her hands even for balance. "So what do Payd-awon Jedi do for fun?"

Re: The Berg - Khi-Khi's Cantina

As soon as she said her name along with 'Companion and head-buster" he winced slightly. She HAD said that already. It had gotten a little lost, to him at least, in the flurry of conversation.

He smiled and shook his head. "You said that already, sorry. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." His eyes unconsciously followed her as she said then snapped back up to her eyes.

He let out small surprised laugh. "Honestly? Usually we're run pretty ragged in training and on missions all the time when we're not sleeping or eating." He scratched his head. "I haven't been on my own for a long time now, so...I'm not sure."

As he looked down at the food and drink, something hit him. "Though...I need to look at the job board soon to make more credits since food and drink aren't free like they were at the Temple. I don't have a lot of money left after the trip here." And it was unlikely he'd see any money from the Temple.

Re: The Berg - Khi-Khi's Cantina

One of her lower arms came around to gently caress his jaw line. "I take it as a compliment." Then he went on about how he didn't know what he did for fun. She glucked her tongue at him and added a word in her own language,  Then she smiled as she switched back to Basic, "You know what? You were meant to meet me. I know how to have fun no matter what I'm doing. I can teach you."

He mentioned wanting to find a job. "There is a public terminal over by the bar. I'll come with you and help you pick something that looks fun." In one smooth motioned she was down and off the table. She clasped both her lower hands and her left upper hand behind her back. If one wasn't familiar with a four armed being, this might look strange, seeing three hands all held together being the back, but for her it was just normal. Her remaining hand threaded into his arm. She gently tugged him. "Come, it will be fun."

Rashu stiffened when she reached out and touched him suddenly. He hadn't been expected that. He hadn't been touched like that in...well, it had been a while. She said a word he didn't understand but then continued on. His eyebrows rose upward at being meant to meet her.

He didn't say it, and he wasn't sure it was true, but....the Force did move in mysterious ways.

"Ooookayyy." The word was a little drawn out, as he was slightly hesitant. He didn't resist the arm reaching his and tugging him along. He did cast a quick glance at the half-eaten meal but hopefully he'd make more money soon and could afford to eat better.

"Well, for the moment, I will have to trust your word on that, but so far you are not dull, I can say that."

Xorb-Yi noted him looking back at his food. She felt humbled, she had known he bought the food and a drink for her. She quickly reached back and grabbed it, bringing it around to him with a wide smile. "Here you go. Waist not want not."

She lead him to the terminal and used her bottom two hands to bring up current job listings. "So, anything catch your eye?" It was a loaded question but when did a woman ever play fair with a man. She kept it up, "Just remember you have a second right here so most of these are open."

Rashu looked a little surprised, but only for a moment, and then smiled at her. "Thank you. I...I admit, I am a bit hungry. I've been stretching my credits as far as they would go up until now, but today...well, arrival here, I knew I needed to keep my strength up."

He cocked an eye at her, "And I'm glad I did! Not sure I would be able to keep up with you otherwise."

Once they reached the terminal, he ate with one hand as she scrolled through what was available. He spoke thoughtfully, "While I understand the need for credits, if I can help it I do not wish to simply...make money. I like to help people when I can." His eyes brightened and he pointed at the screen. "Wait! Look there! Refugees in need of an escort, that sounds ideal!"

He looked to see her reaction.

The hefty besalisk cocked his head when he saw the duo approach. Competent, they looked. Good. With a slight whir of one of his arms he gestured to the table in front of him. Pushing himself away from the wall he took what could only be a specially reserved seat for his size. "So you saw the bounty, yes? There do be a pusher on The Berg, sadly, but unexpected it is not. We get all types, coming, going, cannot screen when refugee, but have to watch out for all."

With his formalities of leadership out of the way, Papah leaned in to lower his voice, his waddle starting to sag on the table top.

Xorb-Yi commented, "Very Noble of you. I look for opportunities to make comedy. The shaft one is screaming for that. I mean looking into a hole to explore the shaft." She wiggled her eyebrows at the double entendre. Looking back at the screen, "That one seems to be able to keep but rescuing people seems a bit more urgent. I have no issue with your choice." Besides she liked a man who took the lead.

He smiled and looked down thinking about her words, but shook his head slightly. "I...don't think of myself as noble. I just know how...life-changing...it can be when you are in a rough situation and someone lends a hand."

He nodded, "Let's go help some people, and maybe bust some heads if needs be." He looked at the job listing, "I guess we notify the droid?"
