Re: OOC

Well if anyone is interested and fought at orcbone or around west Breland during the war, I'd be happy for our characters to have briefly met. Turnip was something of a smuggler of food. No one deserves to starve to death "enemy" or ally.

Re: OOC

Was at Orcbone (to take it back), though not sure we'd be the same side. Always like a person who does the right thing though, even if a smuggler like you might have taken a thing or two from people like me (provisioners/quartermasters/camp followers)

Re: OOC

oh! I think it would be fun having a shared backstory of Turnip trying to liberate some extra food from you, interested?

Re: OOC

I have added the last of the new Players to the game. Welcome one and all. I am still looking over the sheets, but feel free to look over what has occurred and ask any questions that may pop up.

Also I'm pretty sure Greddark is a monk? So It's nice to have three tanks :)

Re: OOC

So after the war did Jaxus come from High Wall in Sharn or New Cyre or someplace different?

Jax was a Cyran refugee in a camp who was taken to Flamekeep after trying to pick the pocket of a Silver Flame paladin.

Re: OOC

Sorry folks, RL has been sponge-ing far too much of my time recently. Newcomers feel free to hop into the main thread. I will try and get a summary up soon.

Where, exactly, is "here". I'm not sure of things at at an Inn, on the road, or what, I'm afraid.

Currently a lightning rail car in the West Breland barrens near Droaam, overturned and attacked by something. We've tracked it for days

Re: OOC

Poetry is actually fairly easy for me.  Good poetry, that takes time.  I once had a bard who only spoke in rhyme.  That was fun to play.

Re: OOC

I once wrote a 1000 word essay, that was assigned as a punishment for a minor transgression in basic training, with an ABAB CDCD rhyme scheme during a 30.minute fireguard shift.  The drill sergeants decided to drop me for push-ups whenever I screwed up from then on.

Re: OOC

I would much rather right than do pushups.  Thank you for your service.  I remember screwing up a few times in Basic.  Fortunately, that stuff didn't much stay in your records.

Re: OOC

And, thanks for yours.  Though those of us who have served really don't need to thank each other, because we get it.  I do thank Vietnam vets whenever I meet them though, because how they were treated when the came home, and that they were our leaders during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Yeah, someone had complained to their congressman about "getting smoked" at Fort Jackson, so drills weren't allowed to drop us for push-up, or butterflies, or mountain climbers (not that they didn't find away around it).  I learned never go above and beyond, even if you can do so easily, when you are being punished by drills.  ALWAYS make it seem like it hurts.

Re: OOC

I spent a lot of my life on bases, glad that I had become civil service, but, unfortunately, that thing about doing no more than asked has become a way of life across the fed.  You don't get paid to excel, and when you do, some boss up the line gets credit for it.  Now, mind you, that didn't always stop me, and once in a while, someone recognized it, but, I never worked for them.  I worked for myself and for God.  My purpose was never just the job, but to be an example.
