Chapter 1: The Missing Shipment
Lyndra sighed as she readjusted her meagre satchel-like pack, the few meagre belongings she had as she made her way to meet the party she would travel with. The lithe woman gained many stares as she went by (Normal for her), but that was a concern she put behind her long ago. To most onlookers, she passed for a human, though her features had an alien-like quality that was seen most common in the half elf folk. She however, had no pointed ears indicating the elves as her heritage.
The woman, standing short of 6 foot tall, had a lean, almost thin frame, hidden by the dark emerald robe which hid almost all skin other than her neck, head and hands. Even with that, the robe had a hood, which was drawn back, and had a symbol embroidered on the breast of a symbol unknown to any but those who knew the celestial language. Her dark hair was long, straight and flowed like a midnight waterfall down to just past her shoulders. Her eyes, to any who looked at her seemed equally as black, though closer inspection showed them a deep dark blue. Her skin was pale, making her appear almost wraith like. Her only weapons were a simple dagger at her hip and a staff of dark oak with a purple diamond-shaped crystal at the top, the edges rimmed with silver.
The woman watched as people moved out of her way, a slight smile tracing the corner of her mouth....one of the few times the woman ever showed any emotion. Her reputation since arriving had people calling her cold, detached, void of any emotions....even dead inside.
....they weren't too far from the truth.
Still, she had her own goals for what was happened. Most people went for glory, honor, riches or obligation - she wanted power. When the letter came for her former master (The lazy, lecherous thing that he was), she held a certain satisfaction that maybe this ws something she could do that he couldn't. The fool killed himself, overextending his power and being greedy, something she lost no sleep over, but now, on her own, she had the choice of what to do. Her limitations now depended on her.
She made her way, wondering what kind of group would she be placed with.
